The time was right for a new project. When @Dingdingding offered an ASM Pokerstars set for sale, I thought it would be perfect for an old-school themed set. I searched through the forum and Chipguide and quickly came across the Sahara design from the 50s/60s, which I liked immediately. After a bit of consideration, I decided to stick with it. With the help of Inkscape, I was able to create a vector graphic over the last few weeks and expanded it to include the additional denominations of 25c and $1.

The labels will be textured.

I had never removed labels before, but I have to say that it generally works very well with the ASMs. 50% of the labels come off in one go. For the others, you have to carefully work with a scalpel in a sawing motion against any remaining bits of the label.

I'm already looking forward to the labels! But it will take probably 2 or 3 month till they arrive.

Another highlight is the dealer button that @SwissChip made for me. It fits perfectly with the Sahara theme. I highly recommend his buttons!

Great idea and nice project - well done!
Looking forward to the end result too.

If the setup fee kills the deal, i can send you textured ‚Dealer‘ labels (black or white).

Enjoy your set!

It's all good. I was just a bit confused in the beginning. But thank your for your support!

These look absolutely stunning. These chips were made back in the days of Jim Blancher. I've seen a lot of them on eBay before, either Apache or Spinetti, I can't remember exactly where. But you couldn't put them together to make a set. They were sold in barrels of 20. But never that many at once. Yours are absolutely stunning. And they're brand new and dusty! They'll be amazing when you lightly oil the edges. As far as I know, 15-20 years ago, you could get these sets in the PokerStars store in exchange for points, for VIP players. And it was an expensive pleasure....
