Hey chippers ,

So I’m new to collecting , and currently stuck with some cheap chips (disgusting I know) been playing poker for many years and looking to upgrade my chips before I can get the clay molds I want . Been looking at the riverboat poker chips for my next step up, has anyone had experience with them and what do they feel like? Or is there any other alternatives you recommend ! I am from the uk so finding them beauty’s you US people have is next to impossible

Link...?

If it is from here, they are mostly heavy (14g) China Clay type chips, and a few ceramics that look like Cards Mold solids.

They are at the bottom of the range of what most people here would consider usable. The CC's are a small step up from Dice chips, which are also for sale there. The ceramics are probably ok, but you can order directly from the manufacturer for about the same cost (search for Tina Hybrids). That way you can get your own theme, colour scheme, breakdown of denominations, etc. I guess you would miss out on the carrying case and other accessories if you went that route.

I bought a set a few months ago - they are pretty good for the price.

What chips do you have now? And what’s your budget/ goal of a next set? Pokershop.de don’t look bad - they import apache chips from US. Otherwise some other EU/UK chippers sometimes list decent value sets on the classifieds page

that’s a nice set that ! I have a basic set that came with my poker table from liberty games , have been looking at BR Pro poker and getting some river WSOP chips but can imagine you’ll have to pay a fair bit on import taxes

Just looked at that website you mentioned and noticed they do some majestic that I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on , have you ever used the website yourself ?

I haven’t but they seem to have good reviews. Price wise you need to factor in 20% VAT + potential import fees (thanks Brexit). There are some EU chippers that occasionally list for sale majestics the in the classified section too. I think there is still one live if you search (albeit he’s looking to sell in sets of 1000, so a rather large sample)

I stil can’t access the classified section yet I’ve seen a few on there that I like aswell it’s such a shame might just have to bite the bullet and pay the fees

There are plenty of ways to get your hands on the real deal lads, despite being in the UK...

Really it all comes down to budget, I started with China clay, then BR Pro, then RHC mixed, then RHC relabelled, then CPC, then CPC again, and now a huge 1600 RHC limit set...

All imported and all without too much difficulty.

What is your per chip max budget?
