Yes, people are going to be able to buy sets. With the volume of chips here, people might be able to buy sets for weeks. But it all depends on what you’re looking for. Fracs might be hard to get. High denominations might be hard to get. And a lot may depend on how the sale is structured. But I can’t remember a large release from the chiproom where $1s, $5s, $25’s, and $100s weren’t freely available for everybody who made the effort to get in at the right time.
Unless people are trying to buy enough chips to run their own casino I don’t think you will have an issue getting the $1-100’s.

If you're buying used primary chips in the most common denominations ($1 $5 $25 $100) you should have zero trouble.
Any other chip will have a degree of difficulty, some more than others. Nobody knows how many mint *primary* chips exist in any of the denominations, for instance, so some of those might last 20 seconds or 2 hours. Chances are good that mint secondary common chips will be pretty easy to get too, like $1 and $5, but it all depends on how many.

Another elephant in the room. Price. I recently bought a few 2000 sets. Private PM style. What should I tell a perspective buyer will be the cost. I get the feeling here price is not an issue with a lot of people. Baller city central or old money dukes. Either way. I want 100/500/500/500/500 all under $500 demons (yes for playing) what’s the cost on this. Will we have any clue prior to the “links appearing” at the set time. Tks again for your time.

We will know the prices on a per chip basis and maybe even the price for an entire set if there are enough of chips to go around.

I'm sure there has already been lots of speculation on the thread already, but if this is run similar to JIm's last 3-4 sales, then there will be the following guidelines:
1) there will be purchasing restrictions in the first hour of the sale
2) the purchasing restrictions on a build-your-own set will probably consist of a) a maximum number of chips (e.g. 2000 assorted) to 1 address, b) a maximum % for each denomination that can be purchased as part of a single order
3) there may be some pre-packaged sets, with a maximum number of sets (e.g. 1, maybe 2) to 1 address
After the 1st hour, all the restrictions disappear, and you can buy whatever you can load into your cart.
We can further speculate on what chips will be snapped up the fastest, depending on guestimates of quantity and popularity:
1) Fracs, $1000, $5000, and $25000 of both primary and secondary will be snapped up first.
2) $500s may soon follow after that.
3) The $1s, $5s, and $25s and $100s will last beyond the first hour.
4) Of the remainder, $5s and $100s will probably be most popular. $1s may last for days. $25s, ever the red-headed stepchild of these sales, may last weeks.
5) 25-50% of buyers in the first 10 minutes will probably get what they want. For the rest, it may be considered a shit show.
Horse trading will go on for quite some time after the sale ends. The Classifieds will go at least 60% Wanted HSIN for 48 hours.
He's going to let us know the pricing within the next week, and the sale will probably go up a week to ten days after that.
Guesses on the pricing based on recent sales - mint chips $1 and $5 and $25's will be in the buck fifty apiece range - hundreds probably two bucks apiece - five hundreds may be as much as five bucks apiece. Used chips will sell for half as much. Personally I'm hoping that the volume of chips here is so high that the prices will be lower than that. But no need to start calculations based on made up numbers - he'll give us the exact numbers probably at least a week beforehand.

Two big ones. Usually 10k - 30k a player PLO. Sometime more. Here is mostly pre
Covid live stacks from the local casino. A few house games and one casino chip in tahoe last November. Never left the PLO game. They kept me live while I went to the room and slept. Played for 3 days strait. Didn’t even play a tourney. Was too much juice. I won more night one then first and second in the main combined.
We play huge PLO in far nor cal. Better ask somebody.... the house games U can see why we needed chip upgrades. I usually don’t post house games, it hurts peoples feelings. If only I could post video here. Lol. My gram is fire. Hit me for deets and Stay tuned Redding’s underground just got a few nice home sets. We’re very thankful for everyone’s help here. I'd just calm yourself and wait to see what Jim places prices and limits at. The hot commodity stuff will go quickly (fracs and $500+) the rest will likely be plentiful enough you will get whatever you need. In a game that size you shouldn't have much use for fracs anyway. None of us know yet how the high demoms will be sold that would likely be your only hurdle.

If you're not worried about chip security at all, then these are the chips for you in this sale.
You'll be able to get at least 2000 chips during the first hour of the sale. Usually after the first hour, all limits are dropped, and you can buy whatever you want from what's left in any quantity. The 2000 number might be larger for this sale if there are lots and lots and lots of chips. You should be ok on every denomination through $500. The $1000 chips are over size, will be percentage limited most likely, and your chances of getting hundreds of those is small.
Everything I just said could be 100% wrong once more information is posted, but this is how previous sales for casinos like this have gone.

I don't believe you'll have any trouble getting all of the $5's, $25's, and $100's that you'll need. If you need $500's and $1000's and over, that's where you may have trouble. Good luck!
He's meaning these chips will give you zero security in your game because they're not unique. There will be 10's of thousands probably several hundred thousand sold. So anyone could buy some and bring them into your game. Temptation is a cruel mistress even for the most secure and trusted game.
