For all the doubters and haters, you missed out big time!
Look, there weren't any doubters (of what?) or haters in this thread.
There have been many lots of these particular chips sold in the eight years or so that I've been collecting chip sets, and, frankly, these have never attracted very much interest or high prices, compared to many, many other sets. I suspect that's because despite the very attractive base colors, the labels don't look particularly like those that casinos generally go for. They're cluttered and gaudy, and look more like fantasy chips (for which many people have mistaken them). The different labels on the two sides deter some people as well. Add that to the slippery nature of most BJ chips, and a lot of serious players don't want to use them.
BTW, ridiculous asking prices on
eBay are certainly fair game here. And it would have died in one day if you hadn't landed here like a 24-carat jackass. Once you did that, you lost a lot of potential buyers.
I'm one of those, who loves BJ chips. And I don't hesitate to spend money on chips, (
no, I'm just typing a story, dear -- no need to look over my shoulder at the monitor), trust me on this. But even at your 1.50/chip offer, since the set was not tailored well for either a home cash game or an STT, I'd have had to desire them quite a bit, and be able to think of at least a few of my existing sets to which I'd prefer these -- and that's unlikely. I considered it for about thirty seconds.
Given the generally high chip prices we see from Europe, TheSnake probably got a bargain.
Anyway, I wish TheSnake well with these, and hope he uses them -- for cash, tourney, or both.
