After dinner last night, a few of us wanted to play a little poker. I always prefer cash style, but a couple of them wanted to do a tournament. We didn't have time for me to figure out a structure, so I just made them play cash.

Anyone here have a good structure for a two hour, short handed tournament? We had five players last night. Or is this just a really bad idea? I can cover T5, T25 or T100 base. T100 being my least favorite. (because I love my T25 chips)

At meet-ups, we often use this T25-base 10k-stacks turbo format as a qualifier satellite tournament, where the winner gets a seat in the Main Event.

T10k stacks (12/12/5/6, 100bb)

L1 50 100
L2 75 150 (50%)
L3 125 250 (67%)
color-up T25 chips
L4 200 400 (60%)
L5 300 600 (50%)
L6 500 1000 (67%)
L7 800 1600 (60%)
L8 1200 2400 (50%)
color-up T100 chips
L9 2000 4000 (67%)
L10 3000 6000 (50%)

With 15-minute blinds, it runs no longer than 2.5 hrs for 10 players. Should finish in two hours with just five players.

Here's a set up for T25 that runs 2 hours and works very well for a friendly social game. 4500 Starting Stacks of 8/8/3/2
