Buyins ranged from $40 to $60. I bought in for $40 cashed for almost $120 (I think I was around $100 in this pic). What is the buyin for the .25/.50 game?
Is that yellow bottle full of lube so when you forcefully dominate the competition it stings less? The absolute best home game in my area shut down about 3 years ago due to the host having a baby and going on an epic downswing. I think his wife was twisting his arm to shut it down. Too bad. I went 51 for 51 session in that game and then lost $500ish each of the last two games. 51 for 53 ain't bad, but damn I hated breaking my streak.
However, he started his game back up again last Friday. Now he's running $1/3 NL (no more PLO booooo). I wasn't able to make it last week, but did go last night and after getting coolered for my first buyin in the first round and dropping down to $100 on my second, I thought the magic was gone. Then Jesus Christ himself reached down and inserted a horseshoe up my butt and I went on a heater to pick up something like 25% of the chips in play. So $600 in (capped $300 buy-ins until host gets stuck and agrees to big rebuys) and I ended up cashing out $1795.
These are his new "top quality" chips. I actually don't hate them, but I REALLY hate using blue $50 chips. Blech.
So sad when your card capper is worth more than the chip set.....
Not that far off actually since I had PNY primary and secondary $25s and $100s which I had brought for the host as new poker room-warming present. Guy is a big Yankees fan and has NYC memorabilia up around the room, so I thought he would dig them.
I also gave him one of emptypoc's "Call this!" chips in an airtite and he just about shit himself when I explained to him the cost of custom clays. Needless to say, he felt like quite the deal-finder when he explained how much he paid for his set (priced here at $79.95 for 500 chips at Discount Poker Shop). "You can feel the quality when you shuffle them. Nice and heavy." Of course I had nothing but compliments for the set, which honestly is a step up from his old chips.
Gengar definitely be slummin' on those stacks. Dude used to have a lot of class.......
Good move avoiding the lil green deuce card capper or you would've been -$2k.The absolute best home game in my area shut down about 3 years ago due to the host having a baby and going on an epic downswing.
