1/2 cash game

IMG_3576.jpeg

Got invited by my old roommate's brother for a game. Offered to bring a chip set but he claimed he was good and I didn't want to insist... You're looking at 5c/10c/25c/50c/$1  :ROFLMAO:

Still, no shit talking, don't want to discourage someone from hosting. I will see if I can convince him to take my old slugged monte carlo set though...

Vegas photo dump from this past week. Lots of short sessions killing time before/after/between other stuff as I was there for a wedding.

Despite getting roasted in the 5/10 I really appreciated how much differently the game played. I definitely felt like players were using position and aggression far more effectively than other games I have or did play in. It was awesome to tangle with players I was certain are better than me, including poker vlogger Jaman Burton, who was at my table and snapped mucked a full house holding 77 on 99x7(!)9 in a ~$2k pot.

Total: 7 sessions, 13.75 hours, +$1155. 72152958466__5A471EF3-0592-4FD1-BDEC-BD059195B8EF.jpeg72155436204__1BDBE2D7-B2D6-415D-BA16-95E3D82CA3DF.jpegIMG_2697.jpeg72163940895__F69CF16D-6C78-4FD0-A976-038A2C1199A6.jpeg72164365215__566C283D-70C1-4FF4-9BD3-8AE86E93B2B6.jpegIMG_2700.jpeg72169383971__26FEE5ED-1410-4437-9803-3195C6F76D4C.jpeg72169528337__738A2519-CAB5-4D1A-A134-D8FF3F076CA0.jpegIMG_3171.jpegIMG_3229.jpeg

Some of these are from Golden Nugget in LV circa 2014. The WSOP is also from 2014 hence the Rio chips lol. The other case game stack was recently after about 12 old fashions lol. Never mind the roulette stack from a recent cruise where they did not have poker.

So when the game is routinely going 10/20/40/80 open 420, 3 bet 1600, flat, rejam 5k, and rerejam 40k preflop with QTd vs 77 on showdown it really doesn’t take much to get wiped out by luck. Or when the blind 5k all in every hand guy wakes up with QQ to your AQ. And very next hand V calls off 2.5k with T9o vs Hero’s AsJ. Ofc the flop comes QsJs8s and Hero fails to improve.

That game could be played in cents instead of dollars, and it would still be to rich for my blood. o_O

Turn those numbers into cents and I’m in haha

In for 700, out for 1,713 at Rivers 2/5 in Schenectady, NY…

The chips do not appear to have ever been cleaned, and are getting pretty worn, especially the 5s. The hats on the RHCs are disappearing.

… Would have booked an even nicer win had not this hand happened:

Hero opens UTG to 20 with K♥︎K♣︎
Three callers, blinds fold

80 in the pot after rake
Flop K♠︎5♣︎9♣︎

Hero cbets ~1/2 pot for 35 with top set and backdoor flush draw

Villain raises to 135 (has 250 behind)

One call, one fold
(Pot now 385)

Hero reraises to 500 all day

Villain tanks calls for last 250
Caller tank folds

Villain has no flush draw… Shows Q♦︎T♠︎ for only a gutshot

Pot 885

Turn T♣︎

River J♠︎

<Hero pukes>

Bummer, lookin like cheap slugged Monte Carlos. Good for a super cheap home game with denoms and decent weight, but disappointing to see at a casino. Glad they've got that security feature.
With the M that only shows under UV fairly sure they are Matusi. Not bad chips but don't feel near as nice as Paulson.

At least Jeff’s stack was something

Pokers easy. In for $300, out for $1200.

Roulette table very hard. In for $200, out for 0. Wait, in for another $200, out for 0. Hold on, in for $200, out for 0. Okay fuck this, in for $400, out for $0. What the shit!? In for $400, out for……0.

Also favorite quote from the night - utg looking at McCormicks capper and McCormick asks utg oh do you collect chips too? UTG responds “I don’t really collect singles of chips, I more collect sets of chips” aaaaaaaand you know immediately it’s a PCFer

I’m reimagining this if it was one week earlier @doublebooyah85
