I am closing in on my next custom set of Tina chips. I think I have my fonts where I want them. Colors are getting close. I want to stick with a southwestern color palette to give a more vintage feel to them. Any suggestions/criticism, good or bad, is appreciated. I've been fooling around with the colors so much that I need to take a break and let you guys take a look and see which direction I need to head. I think I might switch to the "web design" vs the "greek mold" - still up in the air about that.

I'm assuming you have been around here long enough that you have seen the recommendations for denominations. So you've probably already heard that you don't need both 25c and 50c chips, and you definitely don't need $10 chips. But if you want them anyway, then go for it.

You have a lot of orange, brown and turquoise, which could cause dirty stack issues. Especially if you play in low light conditions.

But you certainly have nailed the vintage and southwestern colors. Mind if I ask the significance of the building on the inlay art? It doesn't really fit the southwestern style, but I assume it has its own meaning.

Thanks, for the thoughts - Yep, the denominations bug me, but I've been hosting a low stakes home case game for the better part of 15 years and these are the denominations that "the game" has settled on. We play 25c/50c blinds NL. I'm going to make a proper tournament set at some point soon. The building is my rendering of our town's courthouse - the only landmark that you might recognize from our town. Doesn't really fit the southwestern style, since the building has a lot of Victorian elements, but our town is kinda cowboy country. Truth be told, I just love the southwestern colors. The colors are still a work in progress. I like the 50c chip and the $1 & $5 the best. Those and the 25c chip see the most action. The $10 & $25 are just for rebuys so we don't have a million chips on the table. You thinking the difference between the 25c and 50c isn't enough contrast? I was hoping turquoise color would really pop. I'd like the 25c chip to stay green (or something similar) but I'm open.

I do understand that a long running game would probably be difficult to change. But in the long run it might be worth it, as playing with 6 different denominations would be very frustrating to a lot of players. Do you ever try to recruit new players? The extra denims might be a deterrent for some of them.

When I play, I want to be able to glance at my opponent's stacks and quickly estimate what they have behind. That is a whole lot easier with 3-4 denoms rather than 5-6. Having two different chips that basically just cover the blinds seems really odd. If it were me, I'd use the new chips as an opportunity to change the old bad habits. Eliminate the 50c and the $10 chip. If the 50c is one of you favorite designs, then just make that the quarter.

Believe me, I agree with you, and I'm probably over-thinking things trying to keep everybody in the game happy. If you ever played out game, you'd probably laugh at how many times I say "stacks of 20, stacks of 20" In reality, I bet nobody would really make to much of a fuss.
We have recruited some new players over the years and they just adjust to our silly game. We rarely see the $10 or $25 in the pot. I could easily get by with just 25c $1 $5
Hmmm... you might be talking me into it. Easier to make 4 different chips play nice together than 6.

I really like the color change and the $20 instead of $25. It's an overall fantastic design. I notice the $ is in different locations but looks good. Did you tinker with different placement and decide on that?

Just my 2c but since the theme is Casa Verde, I'd go with a green house (and maybe on the text) on all the chips instead of doing different color matching on each denom.

Great design BTW!

Maybe a Pueblo instead of minarets?
Now that you guys mention that, the use of our little courthouse (Denton's only real recognizable landmark) is starting to bug me. Originally, I was going to use a drawing of my own house, but it's pretty unremarkable/boring. The courthouse I'm using has no "southwestern" style features - it's a beautiful building. I considered using the alamo, but that makes no sense to me. Hmmmm... now what?
