All that aside, I actually think it makes for a really cool looking chip. It may get a tad busy across the set but intrigued by that first mock. Just make sure there is enough base color per chip to keep the chips distinguishable in a pot.
Remember those, then graduated to a real paintball gun and would go every weekend in high school.
re: too busy might be a good idea to make the edge splats one color and the inlay splat a color on the same spectrum as the chip so that it blends but can still be distinguished up close but in the middle of the pot not confusing.
