So, living in south Mississippi right between New Orleans and Mobile, mardi gras is a huge part of our lives down here. From January 1st through Fat Tuesday, we are 90 miles an hour from one event to another. "Hold on liver, it's gonna be a bumpy ride." The Old Biloxi Marching Club has been in existence for 50 years and I have had the privilege of being a part of it for the last 11. This year we decided to make the drive to Slidell, LA to participate in their St Patrick's Day parade as it is also their 50th anniversary. So I figure why not bring you guys along for the fun.
Timee to pack up the wife's Jeep and head to Louisiana.
Check into the hotel, drop off our stuff and head to Old Town Slidell for the evening. First stop, Olde Town Pizza Co for garlic cheese bread.
Next, and quick walk across the street to Tacos and Beer. Wonder what they have on the menu.
At the recommendation of multiple staff members, I ordered the burger. I kinda feel wrong ordering a burger at a taco joint, but let's see how this goes. I did also order a couple street tacos just to be safe.
Now that I'm more than sufficiently stuffed, back across the street to Whiskey & Ashe for a bourbon and cigar.
So far, so good. I'll keep you guys posted and things progress, and yes, the shirt does say "Magically F***ing Delicious."
