Starting Stack Tubes (13 Viewers)

I've bought the larger size. The 43mm chips will slide around quite a bit, but the stacks hold. I'm in the process of gluing seating stickers to the inside of the lid.

I use the tubes from U-line every month. Love being able to get starting stacks ready the day before. Especially since I have been hosting outside of my house.

I do need something for my 43mm chips though. Might be interested in splitting an order with you though. 60 would be twice what I need.

Yeah, these look great. Love that the lids stay on also.

By the way, the color-palette of your chips looks amazing. Is that red or pink at the bottom?
Definitely agreed that the lid is great, its just another piece of plastic my apes can't break or lose. Tubes work well, squeeze them and the top pops off, dump the chips out and grab the tube out of the way.

1. Flattery will get you everywhere.
2. Reddish orangeish.

Does anyone use these tubes for CPC chips on the CSQ mold? My chips are right around 1.55 inches in diameter, which is larger than the 1-1/2" inside diameter listed on the ULINE website. Seems like that's not gonna work, but the pictures say otherwise.

I'm also confused because it seems people are using many different manufacturers for these things.

I saw that some people cut their tubes down to fit their starting stacks better. Maybe a pipe cutter would work? If rotated without much pressure?

The Uline tube is referenced in the OP.

It seems these have become a bit more popular since then: W Gallery 60 Clear 60 Dram Pop Top - Airtight Smell Proof Containers - Plastic Medical Grade Prescription Bottles for Pills Herbs Flowers Supplements, Bulk Pack, Not Glass Jars

The U-Line tubes will definitely work and are much bigger than listed.

I have been running a 3 table tournament every month for the last 18 months and I haven't had any loss or breakage.

TDLR: Bigger tubes fit more chips - counts below.

If interested in a group buy please chime in here:

Long version:

Hey nerds. I was interested in starting stack tubes for cash game buy-ins.

Cash games usually buy in with more chips because people stay awhile and chips can leave the table via tips/rake vs.
Tournaments where people get knocked out and the chips stay on the table and only leave optionally, through color ups.

As such the U Line and 60 Dram bottles were restrictive for my use.

My current setup is to precount two buyins per chip rack with a lam in the middle to split that into a max of 50ish chips. It's not terrible. And I'll mention that Cash buy ins aren't always identical so tubes aren't quite as wonderful as they could be for Tournaments.

Nonetheless, the sales folks at Visipak were kind of enough to send me samples of the 3 types of tubes.
5 1/2" Tube, 7 7/8" Tube and 8 1/2" Tube

The 5 1/2" tube is similar to the 3 golf ball Alibaba tubes linked elsewhere in this thread.

Here are the results (Pasting tables from excel breaks them for me here so I'm just pasting the graphic):

I have a few sample Tinas and they seem to be the same thickness as the Nexgen Lucky Bee. Dice chips are a little thicker. Ya'll probably know how Paulson, TRK, CPC etc compare. I do not.

And if you're interested here's a sheet of reasonable Cash Game buy-ins to service stakes from 150BB at 1-2 blinds to 150BB at 10-20 blinds.

I have used the ULINE tubes for getting close to 2 years. There are times i have wanted the ability to hold a few more chips. To me the sweet spot would be the ability to hold 45-55 chips.

Seems like a happy medium would be a better option with the last two only having a 5/8" difference. Something in the 6.5 to 6.75. Irregardless best of luck!
