Pre-covid numbers, you tell me if it’s better now

My point was that BBA has nothing to do with it.
I really don't think BBA has ANYTHING to do with the closure of poker rooms.
For sure. Adding to that, it takes a quick look at TD forum discussions between commercial operators to see that BBA can even be argued as marginally favourable given the popular opinion that anything that speeds up tournaments/makes them more efficient means players are busted faster and hit the cash tables sooner. Even if that effect is trivial, it's certainly no more trivial than any the effect that complaints about BBAs would have in the setting of the average poker room.

It makes no sense

Look... It was unfair if me to call out @BGinGA . He and I have had this debate for years. I have nothing against him. I just think he's wrong about BBA. I understand the issues he raises around BBA. I just think he uses the rare exceptions/cases to try and justify his stance. My argument is that the positives outweigh the negatives, and furthermore, everyone is affected by the downsides equally in the long run. You can't use rare/niche cases to change generally accepted norms. If that were the case, rules regarding nearly everything in life would be very different.

I can’t think of a better way to sum up the last four years in the USA.
Thanks!
