SunFly Hybrids 39mm stacking & slip test? (1 Viewer)

Someone did a vid a while back comparing some CPCs, Paulsons, CCs etc. They used a piece of board and angled it.

Has anyone attempted to update the test with the Sunfly hybrids. I would be really curious to see how they stack and at what point they start to slip vs the other chips.

Hopefully the original tester has some Boardwalks on hand. Thanks!
 
I do not have any Boardwalks or Hybrids. I have used them, and my subjective opinion is that they had less cohesion than typical ceramics.

This would make sence...
  • Because the labels do not touch, so there is considerably less surface to surface contact (and thus, less friction)
  • Because the chips are practically the same thickness as other ceramics, the chip has less ceramic to make room for the label. The paper does not make up for this loss in weight. Less weight = less friction.
Worthy of note...
  • Different ceramics hold differently, due to different blanks and/or finishing processes, so the above bullet points only work for Sunfly vs Sunfly hybrid comparisons
  • The BW oversized had a special, larger chip/smaller label area. The above bullet points only work for comparing same-diameter chips from Sunfly.

Sounds logical, until one considers that ceramic donuts have more surface tension than flat disks of the same material..... mostly because the disks are never fully flat.

Hence, Sun-Fly hybrids slip less than Sun-Fly ceramics. So do their polyclay chips (with relief mold markings). Both do not follow your logical conclusion, yet are true. :)
