Hi all.

I've been on a journey trying to find traditional acrylic racks for my CPC A-crest mold set. Bought two sets of the generally recommended racks for CPCs.

But I'm not satisfied they fit, they instead hover on rack edges without sitting down in the rack. That risks damage to chips once racks are stacked, especially in a birdcage, since all the weight is on the chip edge.

I know my CPCs are larger diameter than typical at ~39.6 mm. But even 39 mm Paulsons swing in these racks.

To gifs below demonstrate. One gif is Key West racks, the other Made in China (Spinetti's). In both gifs the first chip is Paulson, the second chip CPC.

Do chippers just accept this swinging in the racks as normal? Maybe people don't check this? Your chips do this?

I wonder if the Key West racks are the same as the acrylic ones offered on the CPC website? The CPC ones fit better than other racks in width, but I'll have to verify if the chips don't hit the bottom of the curve when I get home later.

I'd genuinely like to find out too. Twice I almost pulled the trigger on purchasing the CPC racks. The shipping cost to Australia stalled me; more than the cost of the racks.

My CPCs don't all fit in Justin racks. Some barrels do, some don't. Justin was in the process of having some slightly larger racks made with the same design, but I'm not sure when those are due to drop.
I've been following that also. Though chips would fit those, I prefer the aesthetic of traditional racks.

Watching that gif of yours @drdr , that would bother me lol…
I'm a bit perplexed. Racks are well recommended but perhaps most haven't noticed the swinging. Or maybe is generally acceptable as normal. Most focus is on getting the barrel length right for a snug fit rather than sitting to the bottom of the rack.

Everyone with traditional racks... go check? If they swing let know if you knew? Curious about all racks and chips, not just what I have.
