Take time to cherish the little things. (2 Viewers)

Colleen and I are sending you positive thoughts. I'll hand at least three more to toast a quick recovery.

Wise words. As I get older, I find that quality time with the family is all that matters. The rest is just BS.
Wishing you the best for tomorrow! I’m sure your surgery team will do a great job! Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way!

It’s incredible what surgeons can do today compared to even 25 years ago.

I’ll bet their 90% estimate is lower than the actual chances of success, just to hedge against a total fluke.

You’re getting it in more like against a one-outer on the river. Best regards for a quick recovery!

Scary stuff indeed, but it sounds like you have a great team assembled for this, the professionals as well as a super supportive family.

Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.

I’ve got a pretty serious surgery happening tomorrow.

A few months ago, I started having problems with my legs: weakness, numbness, bad balance, etc. I got to the doctor pretty quickly , but unfortunately, it took months of referrals, tests, and MRI’s to discover a tumor putting pressure in my spinal cord. The cord is forced to curve around the mass, and is pinched pretty thin.

The surgery is pretty serious. It will be 8 hrs long, and involves removing parts of vertebrae, working around delicate parts, and some screws and rods. The tough part is that there’s not a zero percent chance that it could leave me paralyzed. However, without surgery, paralysis is practically guaranteed.

I’ve got 90% equity, so I’m shoving. No running it twice.

It hit me like a freight train yesterday. Lots of weeping. My beautiful, loving wife was by my side. She was strong for me, even though her heart is breaking. Fortunately, my dad and mom were able to visit me, and I was able to stand up and hug and kiss them.

Suddenly, poker doesn’t matter. Chips don’t matter. Politics don’t matter. My loving wife and son matter. My friends matter. My heart matters.

So go out enjoy the warmth of the sun on your face. Put your toes in the grass. Call your dad and mom. Smile at your spouse. Hug your children. Tell your family and friends that you really love them.

I’ll know in a day or two more what my future will be like. I’ll update when I can.

Thanks, everyone. I love being a part of things here.
Sending you and your family thoughts and prayers!!

Prayers shipped for a successful procedure and speedy recovery

Best wishes for a great surgical outcome and making many more happy memories with all those you cherish! Sending good vibes down I-80!

If you got it in 90/10 against me, I’d be worried for you, but you got this! I have NEVER used my one-time, but I’m going to use it now.

Nothing but prayers and positive thoughts to you and your family. Looking forward to hearing from you later this weekend letting us know that surgery was a success.

I usually keep this to myself but you seem to need the pep talk, so here goes .....

I am not going to pretend to know what you are going through, but I do know what it is like to be seriously injured and wonder if I will walk unassisted ever again. I was 20 years old, and just broke my right knee for the second time in 19 months. I was WAY too young to even consider a replacement, so the doctors did what they could. Two surgeries, a long time in traction, a year of PT, and well hell, you met me back in October did I look like someone hobbled by injury? Hell no!

Trust the process man. I won't lie. It won't be easy. You will be grumpy. There will be times when you question what the whole point of it really is. Don't give up. Trust the process. One day at a time, one step at a time, one rep at a time. Trust the process, and when this is over you will look back at this as another triumph in life.

And this goes without saying, but if you need anything you know how to contact me. I am here if you need me.

Nothing but love prayers and good vibes being sent your way man. I think everyone on PCF is happy to offer up their "one time" here. Best of luck.
