Tales from the Hitching Post (4 Viewers)

Haven’t posted in a while. Didn’t get many pictures this last week but did get this four way all in. Obviously the trick to the game is just to get kings and then spike quads.

Also got the Paymaster table in action.

Noticed in the post from Sept that you were using the "Bullets" cards. Thoughts?

Also, wanted to add to the chorus hailing the staggeringly awesome Paymaster table+chips. Even someone without an interest in cars/racing can recognize excellent execution of a theme.

Thanks!

The bullets cards have been fantastic (and staggeringly on theme.) I’ve had multiple people ask me what brand they are...for the price on Amazon they are definitely worth picking up.

I haven’t been posting as much in here because I felt like just random pics of guys playing cards was getting boring. I’ve decided to track the results of the Iron Donkey Poker League so there is a little more context. The league has a ten game season from August to May. Each player is scored by their top eight scores (two drops.) The top ten players seed a championship table that is staggered based on regular season score. Tonight is tournament seven so through six weeks the results are:

  1. Troyman - 85.38

  3. Jamie Bolton - 77.93

Did someone kill Max? No, even then that doesn't make sence... even dead, Max should have at least 50 points...

Max has had a rough couple of seasons. I agree that this is a good format for him because he tends to grind and play within the lines and that tends to be consistent which scores well in this format.

The top ten though is really mostly who it should be with one notable exception that has me a little mystified. (Talking about a non chipper who is wildly over performing.)

here are the tournament 7 results, one note on the standings. Since the lowest two scores are dropped some of the movement may seem confusing relative to where everyone places. If the finish for the player for a month is lower than there lowest two previous scores you will see another score shuttled in. So someone who did not play may score points as there no show is dropped and other scores filter in.

Following closely, for S@P fantasy draft... :watching:
Omg this should happen for next season.

Five teams drafting six players each. All the team captains are outside the league. I would even provide sealed (for the captains eyes only) notes on all players in the league for intel.

I'll keep a gamble eye open, but there are a lot of unknown variables for a season long gambol, primarily attendance. August is a long way off though.

Put me in, coach!
Awesome, I will organize this when I have everything together for next season.

You guys can decide what the wager will be. The league scores using a logarithmic function dictated by place and number of people playing. I think we would just port this directly for scoring.

Also I would say we could do some thing like 50% of the money goes to the points leader at the end of the season and 50% goes to top three final table placement holders in the order if 30/20/10 for 1st/2nd/3rd?

Totally! Total points of each player on each team and you have total points of a team.

Six captains? 70% first, 30% second, total points only. Top heavy FTW!

My only thought was I right be nice to have some investment in the final table. Maybe a bonus for whoveer has the champ?

Whatever you wanna do I'm fine with, Tom.

For me though, a League win >>> TOC win. Any donkey can bink the final tourney, even after qualifying 8th. LOL!

And fwiw, my league run similarly to yours. 50% of prize pool goes to top 3 in points at League's end and 50% of the prize pool goes to top 3 TOC finishes. 20 + 1 Tourney League.
