One of the reasons I bought the Rounders book was in hopes of it describing the colors on the track suit. Unfortunately it did not contain a description.

Unfortunately, if I wore this anywhere in Asia, 99/100 I'd be mistaken as a PRC fan instead of a KGB fan =(

My first thought was Adidas track suit (esp. w/ Russian guy stereotype) but it's not the 3 stripes.

Between the 1980s and early 2000s having western clothing in Russia were not easy, and some well reconigzable western brands were considered as 'luxury brands'. One of them was Adidas.
As result many knock off and local copies emerged. And probably one of the most famous was the Mockba sneakers that you can seen on some old old Afghanistan war footage.

Teddy KGB certainly wear one of those Russian Adidas knock-off of the time, which todays it's a forgotten brand.

You can try to find 'Adibas' Bossini, or Sabas but most probably it's a Firma (Фирма) because they used 2 instead of 3 stripes

Were the stripes/zipper yellow or white or a combo?

Sorry I'm not good at guessing colors on black and white pictures. You will need to made you own reseachs, however I've seen both styles zipper matching vest color and zipper matching stripes colors.
Another possibility, find the brand who made the 84 Sarajevo Olympic tracksuits
(but stripes seem a bit wider than kgb)
