The “Official”JeepologyOffroad HipHop thread (1 Viewer)

Even when it doesn’t fit the days mood or situation, can’t skip this when it comes on.

Getting hyped for the club and this comes on? Gotta let it play. Pregame warmups in layup lines and it accidentally plays? Too bad, court DJ better let it run.

100%, though I prefer Contagious if I'm going to load up some classic Isley Brothers. And if we're going back to that time period, this is another can't skip (for me).

If you’re in Vallejo heading to the club and a dude says to jump in so he can showcase his latest speaker upgrades and the entire back half of the cars seats are missing - that’s a bad idea you’ll only do once.

I think this song one time is responsible for at least 50% of any hearing loss I have.

What a thread - humbly adding

I'm enjoying this. Never listened to any Rakim or Erik B other than their biggest 1-2 that still get reg play on playlists, video games, etc. (sounds/looks great for 50s)

Lol there's also the one solo dancer just barely out of camera dressed in idk what that's providing some laughs.

Glad your enjoying it - i am a queens boy of the 80s so anything from the boroughs was religion. J.period is awesome - reminds me of mix tapes sold on the corners of the east village. but with way more production quality.

…and yeah - hard not to notice her and the covid era mask.

I just can’t help but love Charlie Wilson.

The AUDACITY for a man to make a song titled “Charlie Last Name Wilson”. Like…it’s just Charlie Wilson agressively yelling his name at you over and over.

The fact that they not only came up with the idea for this song, but then green lit it too. Charlie Wilson a legend for this one.

Basically same thing

Mike jones album was #3 on billboards and at the time the number #1 hip hop album. It was huge when it came out
That’s crazy, I don’t remember Mike Jones album being that high (not saying you’re lying just to be clear). I remember Mike Jones for his underground music with Swisha House in Houston way more than I do when he became a mainstream artist. That’s pretty awesome!

For real. Haha mike jones a mad man for that too.
except Uncle Charlie’s song was actually a real hit and a classic!

Yeah I'm like least knowledgeable in this whole thread. But I never had a clue who Charlie was until I came across a random song in my adult years (and glad I did!)

But the 2 ring tones I had on my flip phone for years back when I was 14ish was Mike Jones and Vanilla Ice.

I had heard this song in a few YouTube shorts lately and found the music video yesterday. I haven't been too big into music in general in a long time, but I am a fan of this one:

Also, since he has a shout out to Project Pat, I'd be remiss not to post this, too:
