The best looking $1 Las Vegas chip 2017 (1 Viewer)

I have a friend heading to Vegas in a couple of weeks. I'm getting her to pick me up a dozen or so $1s from various casinos.

Is there any that anyone recommends as a "must have" and are there any that are likely to be more minty than others?

Probably not too many sharp edged chips left in 2017, but this is one of my favorite $1s.

Great chips! They are good for re-labeling... :sneaky::whistle: :whistling::D

I kinda like the deep blue shade and the simple white spots of the Mirage dollas. Which reminds me, does anyone want to trade my mint THC Bally $1s for their rack of either Tropicana House Mold $1s, MGM House Mold $1s, TI House Mold $1s or Excalibur House Mold $1s...notice emphasis on House Mold.

^^ Jerry's Nugget, nothing else is even in the same ball park for my my money. Best mold, best spot pattern, great colors, decent inlay.

Tropicana Express has a pretty nice RHC $1 chip.

That spot pattern tilts me. I'm sure it was great once upon a time, but I see it everywhere. It's on a bunch of Paulson fantasy chips and it seems to be all over cheaper chips too, majestics for one.

Hey, don't fault the original Mona Lisa just because the local paint store had a bunch of cheap copies made. :D

I'll admit, I like the simplicity of the MGM $1 design, but the fact that it's on a house mold pretty much ruins it for most chippers. You can't pair it with anything in a mixed set unless you don't care about consistency and don't have an ounce of OCD in your blood.

If it's not on the THC mold, then it's automatically disqualified IMO... YMMV

Unless you are building a mixed house mold limit set:D:D:D

I have mixed mold sets and I am not that OCD. If the chips look great then play them. Mixed set is just that. Mixed. I am sure not many would pass on my mixed set fracs and spotted birds, OCD or not!

FYP  :whistling:

Really? No OCD?... Mr. 25c, $1, $25, $5, $100  :ROFLMAO:

I agree, most would jump at the opportunity to own your mixed "set". But they'd sure jump faster and higher if they had an opportunity to own just the fracs and $1s. Some might argue that you have a "set" of mixed chips, but that you're only 40% of the way toward having a mixed chip set. I'm excited to see what you come up with once you've found a replacement for those 3 placeholder racks. :ROFLMAO:

I kid, I kid... But seriously, I can't wait to see it once it's done. :)

I know if I was OCD and had your "Blue" set the hundo would drive me crazy! :ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

I guess one of the great and fun things about a mixed set. It may never be truly done!

Very true. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to do an inlay replacement in order to make a $100 that fits it as there aren't any other options, but don't worry. It's already in the works  :whistling:

My mixed set. I love it. I won't lie; I'll replace the $1's with THC $1's as soon as I get the chance. But it's much more because of my disdain for the RHC mold than any anality about molds. And whenever I find the perfect THC $1's, I'll still keep the house mold oversized $20's.
I guess I think the fact that they're oversized "excuses" the fact that they're on a dfferent mold. But the bottom line is, as much as I pay attention to molds, I'll never be that much of a mold consistency snob, and I've good with that.
