I am making a custom set of chips for my home game and I wanted to make my larger denominations similar to that of the Lodge Austin Tx. Does anyone know for sure what sizes are used for those higher stakes cash games The 1k,5k, and 25k chips seem to be 47 or 50mm, while the smaller denominations look like 39mm. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you trying to make a 1:1 copy of the Lodge chips? If not, honestly, who cares what the exact size is in the higher denoms? A larger diameter will do the trick and will be unique to your set.

Alternately, count the pixels and do the math.

The 25 bottom center is 106 pixels across, he 5k above it is 129. Assuming the 25 is 39mm, that makes the 5k 47.5mm

@Brad Owen

also maybe @Anthony Martino

All great feedback so far. The truth is I don’t want to make 1:1 replicas but the sizing is important to me I tried 39 with 43mm for the bigger denoms but you can barely tell a difference.

I forget exactly when, but in a recent stream, Doug said he liked the idea of slightly larger big denom chips, but he would have gone slightly smaller. He had the convo with Nik Airball.

That makes sense I was thinking of doing 39mm and 47mm
People can debate whether, for general handling purposes (shuffling, sitting out bets, etc) 43/44mm is better or worse that 39mm. But there doesn’t seem to be any such debate with bigger sizes - most people agree that any chips bigger than 43/44 simply don’t handle very well.
Just something to consider.

exactly, i'd stick to 39 and 44

I know I'm a chip snob but IMO those Lodge chips are horrible

If I'm playing High Stakes Paulson me baby llololol
I don’t think the Texas clubs can buy Paulsons, since they’re not actually licensed casinos.
But considering the rise in popularity of poker in Texas, that’s a policy that Paulson/Angel whoever really should change.

Appreciate the insight!

Then they should get Mr Sprague on the horn at CPC lmaooo

Yeah, GPI won't do business with any Texas rooms. There's an Alibaba vendor doing eerily decent (but still obvious) clones of unweighted Bud Jones V8/V9s for the Texas rooms that don't go with Brybelly/Claysmith garbage or Texas Poker Supply's good ceramic offerings.

Personally I like the 39/43 mm dynamic. All my sets are set up this way. I don’t necessarily mind the idea of using 48 mm for the highest denomination, but I will say that once you add chips larger than 43 mm you start to have storage issues. The 48 mm do not fit in normal matsui racks or the bird cages and do not fit in any chip case I am aware of. The only way I have been able to store all chips together (including 48 mm) is to get a Justin rack and custom make a pelican case (pluck the foam). Just a thought.

I purchased 50mm racks from either @Spinettis Gaming or @Apache for my Winner Club/Cocaine Giraffe set. But only 80 chips to a rack.

Here are some pictures of how the chips came out. I also customized one of those espn 10 player poker tables by replacing the ugly “flop, turn, river” felt with a triton mat. I removed the lighting and the arm rests to staple the mat onto the wood and replaced the arms rests and lighting for something dimmer. Anyways here’s what poker nights looking like so far. I love the new chips and I am happy I made those bigger chips… bigger.

C'mon... You know there is another storage option that can fit any size chip you want... @alecnetwoodworks

Which vendor made those? They came out great! Edges are aligned really well.
