Thanks to @NERGCINC for helping me get this single table tourney set closer to being finished. Still need one barrel of the $500 and 7 of the $5000 (going to relabel as $1000).

I had this same setup! I was legitimately tilted when my players all thought the BJs were way cooler than the THC. I was internally screaming “DO YOU APES KNOW THE PRICE DISPARITY IN THESE CHIPS???”
The answer is NOPE. No idea. Next time scream it out loud, its +EV, the apes love a little yelling.

I finally found one of the missing pieces of my ~1,000-chip St. Maarten Isle Hotel & Casino set — the $50 “play” chip, which I’d only seen in guides, never in person:

Does anyone know what this CASINO PLAY designation meant?

Maybe this is a standard term, but it’s not one I’m familiar with…

Is it a type of chip you get at the cage, then bring to a table to be changed into smaller denoms?

Or maybe some kind of promotional thing, say a bonus you got for booking a room to encourage hotel resort guests to try the casino?

Sounds like a promo play.

Thanks for the extra, @bernielomax - incredibly generous.
@jpietrella i forgot how awesome these are and I miss them. I might have to start over again.

They're fantastic and they're never too far away!

I'm well past 3 racks of the regular small inlay, so you're welcome to the leftover which may be a barrel or two at this point.

What does a “match play” chip mean?

"Match play" means risking a fire as a pyromaniac teenager. Wait, no, that's not right.

If I understand it correctly, it's a promo thing where you get a "match play" chip from the cage or promo desk or whatever, for doing something like signing up for the casino's member club, or showing an airline ticket stub (looking at you, The D) or similar.

A match-play chip cannot be cashed, but the casino will match your bet (usually on table games) up to the value on the chip. In other words if you have a $25 match play chip, you put up $25 and the casino puts up $25, and your total wager is now $50. If you win, you're paid out as if you had bet the full $50. If you lose, well, you only lost $25.

EDIT: It also bears mentioning that this is a one-time bet. The match-play chip will be collected by the dealer once the hand is over, win or lose. (You can't sit there playing $25 match-play hands over and over with the same chip.)

Congratulations! Now no one will be whining about the dealer. The cards don't need to be burned anymore—you can just deal them. :-)

Man... I really got hooked on these machines. I almost got one, too. Unfortunately, it arrived damage, and I immediately returned it to the seller, deciding I wouldn’t fixing it. And my wife didn’t approve of buying a second shuffler once she saw the price. Besides, I have too many poker-related projects going on at the moment. I realized this could turn into a never-ending story...

Although, to be fair, I’ve already ordered some electronic components to test the TRNG and build my own machine...

It’s an amazing device, even though I don’t really understand why they used such unjustifiably expensive components in some parts... Insanely expensive... It feels like they intentionally wanted to make it as costly as possible. But that’s not entirely true. I found the patent documents for the first machine, and that explained a lot.
