4 color decks: imo great for fast online play but hard to break into the the live game culture
i tried to introduce peek cards and was booed out of my own room
so I did not even consider trying 4 color ;)
I don’t understand. I love 4-color decks because I can’t see straight after drinking too many drinks. They help me. I’d like to hear a rational argument against them…genuinely curious. The only argument I hear at my game is “it’s different the two color decks”.

I’ve heard they can actually be worse for color blind people. But there don’t need to be rational arguments - people hate change!

Fair enough…the 4-color decks are here to stay.
You don’t have to convince me. I use them online. I only own one 4-color setup, desjgn, but I’ve never even tried putting it in play because I’m pretty sure there would be outrage. First I need to convince these people to play something other than Holdem.

@justincarothers
amazing production!

Trying out some new cards. Nice look and feel, will get them in play for our cash game Friday night. Ordered directly from their site, only had the Red/Black combo in stock.

A few days ago I offered my first impression and was a tad harsh. After breaking them in a bit I would say they are one of my favorites. Especially like the texture and feel of them. Super solid cards.

As people who love aesthetics of chips, cards, tables, lighting, everything, its no wonder they've grown attached to the suits being their given colors. I actually just ordered my first 4 color deck this morning so we'll see if it changes my mind, curiosity got the best of me.

My rational argument is one of aesthetics and teaching practicality: I love the red and black, always have, and I think the blue and green look light and silly in pictures. Im sure they're helpful for some people but Im young and so are the majority of my players, jumbo index is more than enough.

I would also be afraid of the opposite occuring: I teach lots of new people, if I teach them on a 4 color will it mess them up on nights here or there where someones using a 2 color deck(vast majority of them)? I cant have them leaving and taking it for granted that all reds are hearts after a couple beers lol. If Im teaching awareness Id much rather teach on 2 color.

Rational, indeed. Thank you.

A smattering of recent small mail days thrown into one shot. Several plastic samples for educational purposes, Sahara Dunes $1s to fill out a rack and complete that set (after they’re cleaned up, of course), and a couple extra singles @flipupchipup generously included with the SDs. Thanks @Nanook, @lrapley, @Lemonzest, @justincarothers, and @flipupchipup!
