A little early downtown Vegas history arrived today:

AD-20241209-mailday.jpg

Opened by bootlegger Tony Cornero, the SS Rex in Downtown Vegas was named after one of his offshore gambling ships. The officials in Vegas didn't care much for his presence in town, eventually revoking his gaming license. After a couple sales and name changes, the casino was open less than a year.

I have chips from the offshore SS Rex in my collection, so these help cap off that particular story.

Was out in Colorado and Utah camping for a bit and came back to a triple mail day!

First up are 24 different San Juan, PR CIC chips. So many different chips of the same denomination. Palm Hotel had 4 different $100s? This might not even be all of them. Haven't held his many CIC together before, they look and feel great.

Second is a small but playable~250 piece Paulson Jack Todd Co. Diamond mold solid set with EOS monogram. Yellows and blues are 10+grams each, reds are ~9.4.

Last up is from @Spinettis Gaming, a couple of 500 chip cases to house unfinished projects and some Palmas Clubs

These are more than likely Jack Todd Co. diamond mold chips by the look of the stamp. Could be from an illegal place or a small card room that ordered these.

I’m absolutely thrilled to be getting this sample back in my possession sometime soon. They are safe now, with my buddy @horseshoez

I foolishly traded a sample set, back in 2019, and regretted it from the moment I shipped it. Happy as hell (and lucky) I was able to score another sample set. Special thanks to @ReallyGoodUsername for hooking me up on these.

I gave mine away for $0. Not my smartest move. I have a few samples that I deeply regret selling/gifting. this is one
