Glad they got there safe!!

If there are more of the Large Porcalin CP buttons anywhere would love to find one of those. Those are nice.
Not big into buttons but its my favorite love of my life set :) Extra cool stuff for that set is cool.

Just my own speculation, and I don't at all mean to be classist here, but the wealthier members here with high end chips have no incentive to sell if the buying market is going to be limited. Lots of people are tightening up their spending citing instability with finances due to job loss or other expenses.

Just speaking for myself, I do ok but I'm not a player for high end sets by any means. As soon as my son goes back to daycare, and God forbid, if I have a second child, my budget for play money and spending is going to be going down to pay for day care for two kids. I'm trying to get my sets rounded off ASAP and my CPC orders in because 2021 spending is going to be low based on when and if child # 2 comes.

Also got my estimated property tax bill for 2021, projected 8.5% increase after a 3% increase last year. Thanks COVID :banghead:
Joe and the other members from NJ not to get into politics here but Governor Smurphy is going to get a Bond Loan Bill passed where NJ is borrowing a load of money and one of the provisions in there is if the state can’t pay back the loan they can enact a state property tax to pay off the loan. He says many other bills in the past had this provision in it. This is the first I have ever heard of this. So imagine local municipal property tax, then state property tax, and then a tax for when I sell my house and exit the state of New Jersey. The Exit tax we have is the kick in the balls right before you leave.

Finally the Aurora Star cash chips have come in & they are simply just gorgeous. Thanks @Gear for 3 out of the 4 denominations chips that I needed, appreciate it big time . As well still looking for the $5s to complete this amazing small set so I can hopefully put it into play very soon ;).

Fwiw, not all members here with high end chips are wealthy (raises hand). Making broad assumptions is rarely accurate.

Only making the point that those with steady incomes have little incentive to sell if only a handful of other posters can afford to pay the asking price given various reasons for financial insecurities because of the pandemic and it's fallout.

It's a bummer that things have been slow relatively speaking, but I understand why.

Yes, in spite of how much one makes, its possible to accumulate some really nice (and expensive) sets.

But I'm getting too off topic here :)

Mail days are the best days.

I recognized two of the envelopes and knew what was inside... Lol at the German Shepherd stamp... Anyone wanna guess who that is from?

@bsdunbar1 was running a giveaway... I didn't want to take a chance on not getting these classy cut cards, so I asked him for a trade instead, and he said yes! Thanks, Bill!

In case you didn't guess, the German Shepherd stamp was from @k9dr. His Doctor's Lounge cut cards are all kinds of retro goodness. He agreed to a trade too, then kicked in two extra Suicide Queen Melee 2020 cut cards! Thanks, Mark!

I didn't recognize the name of address, but I don't keep a list of things, and I do have a few other goodies inbound... Musta just forgot... But this feels like a chip, and I don't recall buying a chip. Hmmm...

The envelope was fully wrapped in packaging tape! I had to cut three sides of the envelope open with scissors to get to the inside.

Now that's how to mail a damn chip! But I still have no idea what it is... I'm ripping it open like a kid on Christmas... And then I get the chip out...

I totally forgot about this... @juankay20 bought a couple denoms in a classifieds sale, and I asked if he had a spare to sell... I didn't care much about condition, although I did say I'd prefer blue chip (but any color would do)... He hooked me up with this beauty!

Part of the reason I'd forgot about it was I was waiting for a PPFF or Venmo address to pay for the chip and postage. And it just showed up in the mail. Thank you, Derek! The chip is perfect! It actually brought a smile to my face because, like I said, I'd forgotten about it. Deuce liked it too. Let me know if I can ever repay the favor.

TBH I don’t even know what would classify someone as „wealthy“ these days. I certainly count myself as fortunate that both my wife and I hold down good jobs that pay well (though living costs here in Switzerland help compensate some of that!). I wouldn’t classify myself as wealthy though by any stretch. Maybe it all just comes down to perspective?

But, so I am not just imaging it right?

I hear ya. I know my business has been hit hard and I thought we had just turned a corner when the FL spike reared it’s head and now the medium term future is looking particularly grim for my business.

I could also see some people just not wanting to trade away sets to if they aren’t playing home games. Or perhaps they are just not chipping at the moment at all if they aren’t playing.

Good luck on #2!

I believe the influx of new members is part of this (and I am part of this group as well). Imagine every new member has at a minimum, a small keeper set of desirable chips. For every set that gets assembled, it also gets taken off of the market. Even a few chips per new member would add up quickly.
If a member has a couple cash sets and a couple tournament sets, like I do, they remove a few thousand+ chips from the available "pool" of chips.

Here's a quick chart I put together showing the increased membership rate of PCF. Granted, they're not all still active or even necessarily chip buyers, but you can see the community growth and consider the impact on the "limited" supply of chips.

The other part, and I can only speak for myself, but since my home game went on hiatus, I've decided to try to finish up some projects. I have a few chips that I may sell, but not until my "replacement" sets are complete and usable. I'm basically not chipping real hard since I can't get new chips in play.

You're definitely not. Honestly I figured it would take much less time than it did to see a lull in classifieds listings as a direct or indirect result of COVID.
