I’m really glad I got these though. I thought pink would be more pink than red but that wasn’t the case

The CPC samples have saved me from making a mistake that costs hundreds to thousands of dollars. DG Pink is the only "real " pink out of the lot. Regular Pink is more purple than anything.

I got a very awesome package from member @jbriod today. He had won an All In Button/Lammer from one of my giveaways. He knew I collected Dealer Buttons and decided to send me this assortment of buttons and cut cards from his new Asia Club themed design he is doing based on the now defunct Imperial Palace in Vegas. Just simply awesome. John even sent me a nice letter to go with the assortment. What blew me away is he sent me a button that just came from the @PokerChipsDesign buy and that was so nice like all APs stuff. I love doing the giveaways and I don’t do them for stuff like this, but it is GREAT when this does happen sometimes!

Quite nostalgic. It was (probably) the last joint on the strip where you could truly go slumming

I feel the dayglow colors are fairly well represented by the design tool wheras the weighted ones are less livid in person.

edit: think I meant to say vivid :)

Got a couple more of these in a large lot. The chip guide lists these as fakes or counterfeit. I don't really care one way or another because I like the look but does anyone know the whole story here?

I thought they were made but never used, then sold at the stores for a short time. I could be way off and misremembering. I've always adored the 25s and Hundos...

The originals (with shaped inlays, like the pictured $20 chip) were made for the casino but never used (or delivered), so in some aspects, they fall into the same category as PNY, Jack Detroit (and arguably ES/AS/PS) chips -- chips made by Paulson for casino use but were never actually used in an actual casino.

Paulson later reused the color/spot combos from the origonal Horseshoe-Gardena set to manufacture home market chips, including non-casino-bound Horseshoe sets (with round inlays, shown in your photo), and in several other fictional location sets such as Casino de Mexico, etc.

See. What he said. I meant that. Word by word.

Ok so if I want to get the originals not the repops I need to focus on the shaped inlays then?

@BarrieJ3, thanks for offering that many chips while you were on the old continent and letting them go at very fair rates.
There were also generous gifts included, that I very much appreciated.

I just LOVE reading posts like this from you Dave! I try to record the information in my pea brain, but I usually only remember bits and pieces. I thoroughly enjoy the free education of the chips and the history too!

Same. Love the info and also stories of why casinos closed, how folks come into possession of chips.
PCF The Book should be a thing
