Three weeks and a US customs visit later…my Crystal Parks have finally arrived from halfway around the world. These will be joining the six racks that I already had and will be filling in my set beautifully. I’ve never seen most of these in person before (except for the 5s) and while they all are great looking, the day green 2s, hot pink 3s, and white hundos are absolutely incredible! And while they have a couple strikes against them (they are RHC, have oversized labels, and have that weird thing going on with the edge spots being partially on the oversized labels) they have so much going for them (over the top Cali colors, seemingly indestructible, the cool way the chip base color fades into the bottom of the denomination, and real casino chips that are affordable & plentiful) I do not understand why everyone is sleeping on these. But I thank you for it. Otherwise there is no way these would’ve lasted the hour it took me to see them in the classifieds. Thank you so much @BonScot for the chipes, the safe and secure packaging, and the support through an exhausting three weeks of waiting. Will post a family reunion photo soon once they get all cleaned up!

Oh yeah…and much props go out to US customs inspector that did the inspection on these. They not only were careful when opening the two boxes they inspected, they replaced all the packaging material and securely taped the box upon completion. We always hear about the shitty job they do sometimes so I wanted to make sure a positive got out there because it is well deserved.

Glad they turned up safely. That lubed up latex glove you found in the box was from the customs guy. Nothing to do with me... honest :LOL: :laugh:
 
Some nice surprises from @DuffCal ! I think Duffy thinks he's bugging me with all the late night PMs ... You're not; I love chatting about chips. You're too kind man! Can't believe you remembered I'm one of 3 people in NJ who follows the Bengals.

Funny you say that...... I bought these with the original intent to commit that crime, but each time I brought them out I liked them more and more. So these will remain in tact and will be my one untouched casino set. I am in the process of looking for a 43 mm candidate for the 1ks.......

Love the flvs

I think they are super underrated chips. I dont even mind the yellow inlays. Love the 1s, 5s, and 25s.

Aha, I’m so used to sets with fracs around here, and the yellow $5 and green $25 threw me off haha. Stunning colors in that lineup.

Sorry, sometimes my inner PCF-vulture comes out :D.

On a serious note, I have read elsewhere that murdering the FLVs is actually difficult relative to other chips. I ultimately intend to do it with my non-denomination $500s of the set. Was that your experience is well? They look great/immaculate in your pictures.

Tl:dr - it depends. I’ve seen some with a vinyl inlay under the laminate, and those aren’t too bad (though still a little tougher than the modern glossy chips), but some of them have paper inlays and those are a lot more work.

They were middle of the road difficult. The terribles are the most difficult chips to murder in my experience. So much of a pain I stopped after one rack and pivoted from the terrible 5s to the hsi 5s which is a much easier chip to murder (vinyl under label as opposed to paper).
