My very funny assistant was labeling outgoing mail, and she saw the Beavers, and named it thusly.

I heard a really interesting take on singles values at the chip convention from a fellow PCFer. That set buyers actually INCREASE singles values, because for the most part, we don’t break racks. Which makes it unlikely that we would sell off singles from the racks, which makes the singles all the more valuable.

In a way, our racks increase singles values!

Makes sense, especially since many of us will overpay for a single or a few singles to finish a barrel/rack if we are otherwise unable to track them down. I bet the single sellers or vendors are counting on that in many instances.

This is very true. If it weren’t for us, the supply would be much greater by an order of magnitude or more. And demand would be way down as well.

Hell, I am not even much of a chipper and I know I have single handedly driven the market for a specific chip as I tried to build barrels and racks off of singles on eBay and the singles sellers’ sites. Raise your hand if you have done the same.

Yeah, my immediate reaction to your post was - doesn’t matter, because he’s never breaking off singles, so whatever he hasin those boxes WON’T affect the singles market, for as long as he has them.

But the point stands - if I thought a single was worth $500 because everybody agrees that only 50 of them exist, I’d still want to know that somebody just sold you 100 of them, before I shelled out my $500 for an alleged super rare single. (All hypothetical)
