Short answer: no.
Long answer: I tried (with CPC at least) and, while the engraving part is not a problem, the paint job leaves residue that cannot be removed. Also the time it takes to do each chip would only make it viable for one-offs or not many copies.

Thanks @casinochipper22 for the lovely minty CC $1s!! Great chips! They are so tight in my 4200 rack, I can turn them upside down and not one moved! Now my biggest decision is to make into seat markers or bounty chips. One set is going to be one or the other. My HS Tunicas is the other choice for either seat markers or bounty chips.
