There is something strange about this chip. Why does the texture pattern on the inlay have a different orientation from the pattern on the clay? Looks like the inlay is not original.
CJ’s are good for falling out inlays! Lol. Crosshatch mismatch, lots of talk about that at the convention this year!! Lol. Great job on getting it back in anyway @Okku

The inlay was removed when I got it so I put it back on. Didn’t know about inlay/chip cross hatching at that time.
You need to tell us the name and address of the monster who would do that to a purple, shaped inlay, C&J, $20 Stardust chip.

Shout out to @Benjaminotaur. few weeks ago I bought some dealer buttons and he messaged me about one he wanted. I told him I only bought them because my son is into starwars and sent him the db I didn’t need.

Then today my wife gets this in the mail. My son is super excited for bedtime because of this. He didn’t have to but went out of his way to get this for my boy. Thanks so much!!

This is what chipping is all about!

C&J did do shaped inlays ;)

yes they did ;) though I only recall seeing scallop inlays on C&J chips.

Interesting, shinny in the hats and looks like a CJ, looks and feels like a CJ but it is exactly 39mm not over like other CJs... very odd, but that's cool if it is a Paulson.

Yeah the hats looks shiny but the C&J mold were all long cane versions. Your chip is a short cane version For sure a sweet Paulson chip, tho!

Another fun mail day! This is going to be an end-to-end Fall project. These suckers are going to get cleaned, flattened, milled, inlay'd to become the $1 chip in my Post / Mint C&J set! I couldn't pass them up at this price point ... C&J chips are just so rare to find in quantity for a price that doesn't break the bank. With the money I saved, I get to buy a drill press, some bits, and hopefully have enough for a finger guard!
  • C&J ... Check! (Shiny Hats, 39.78mm, built like a mf'ing tank)
  • Dirty AF ... Check!
  • Slightly warped ... Check!
I don't even know where to begin. Maybe I clean them first so that when I go to flatten them, none of the gunk gets baked in. I'm guessing milling comes after flattening

C&J TH canes are also longer than Paulson TH canes by a few mm.
