"HAPPY HALLOWEEN" gift from my brother Herman @Godzilla28 !! Thank you so much from both of us... you know Ms. Brie loves the Rodeos (I may love them even more but that's ok) and a beautiful Arc Dime from the convention! You da man!
At the game last night @DarkHelmet55 walks over and hands BOTH Brie and I sample sets from his recent trip to Cali of Matrix and Bay 101 chips... so cool and as always Thank You for thinking of us brother!!
Then we have crazy Steve @chipinla and his new custom B molds. You killed it on this one brotha man!! Thank you for always thinking of sample sets and offering them up to us crazy sample collectors. Trully amazing "artwork and they are already nestled nicely in the samples box in their forever home!
As much as I love casino fractional chips and their history, I think I might like people's personal frac chips even more. I got some of the best ever in the mail today. I'm chuffed!
These all arrived the week before last, but I hope you'll excuse my tardiness. First and foremost, I received these beautiful chips, courtesy of @PAZ's generous giveaway:
Thank you to @PAZ for the sample set, and thank you to @liftapint for running the group buy!
For those that don't know, @PAZ has a long history of awesome giveaways. I won something from him a little over 10 years ago as part of his epic 5th anniversary giveaway on CT. For those that weren't around for that (or have since forgotten), @PAZ gave away 60 prizes plus a grand prize. He gave away one prize for each month he had been on CT, and then had a grand prize of a set of 310 GCOP chips and 190 other chips that included goodies like Nevada Club quarter pies and real ASM Rounders movie prop chips. He also ran three bonus giveaways, so by my count there were 64 prize packages given away in all. He gave away over 1270 chips, in addition to other items like dealer buttons and card setups. Anyway, I took so long to post this mail because I wanted to pull out the prize I won 10 years ago:
The chips in that prize are:
Here's #30, the ASM 100th anniversary celebration rack pack! This prize contains 100 chips:
2) 100th Anniversary
5) Shaped Inlays
6) Late Night Poker Tour
6) Eldorado
9) Key West
10) New Cleo's
14) Palmas Clones
15) Original Cleo $100's
33) FDL color samples
So yeah, he has a long history of being a generous asset to the chipping community. Thank you for everything!
I also had some other mail the week before last:
Up until last week, I only had one of those chips. Now I'm up to five! Even though my playable set uses the inlaid version of the Monterey Club quarter, I really like the hot stamped version. The club ordered 15,000 of the hot stamped chips in the 60s, but it seems like most of the stuff from the 60s didn't make it out of the club when it shut down. I assume most of the chips were destroyed at some point prior to its closure, but I'm glad to have a few survivors in my collection now!
