Just a couple of freebies from a generous guy who saw I was chasing some chips.
Thank you so much, @Littleluck55 - it is very much appreciated. Merry Christmas to all!

So I already posted the first part of the story, where I got the refund for that warped turd-burger Tropicana-Ramada chip. From the same seller, though, this was another chip in the transaction. I'm very happy with it, though I wish it was just a *TAD* less worn. It will *barely* stand on its edge. It is an excellent addition to my Rat Rod set racks of $5s.

I may do some science on mine when they come in tomorrow, but at the moment I'm leaning against stamp removal. I think the stamp is too large to clean up and still look good, and then there's the fact that these almost have an appearance of stickers/overlabels more than your typical inlay. I bought with the intention to relabel but I think that's off the table after learning more since then.

I would be very interested in seing a chip with the hotstamps removed. Have a feeling it will look pretty good. I do think that CP design is pretty nice, and probably preferable to the starburst stamp

The stamps actually remove pretty cleanly and easily with a soak in 91% isopropyl alcohol. The embossed pattern does kind of catch and refract light from the side though, these don't really have any foil left in them.

The fumes from soaking all of them in 91% must be epic. Hope you’re wearing serious gloves under your stove fan not next to a source of a spark.

@kmccormick100 yeah gotta be careful with discoloration. I guess the huge inlay is actually of help to avoid big problems with this though, but probably smart to test in a few chips first how they react.

Edit: did soaking discolor the rolling edges?
