I was skimming through the Spinettis Holiday Sale when I saw what looked like a handful of BCC Monterey Club Commemorative 2006 quarters mixed in with their Fan of Cards chips. I took a look at the listing again, and it turns out they are FOC chips. I ordered them to see how closely they match the Monterey Club Commemorative quarters. I also bought the lonely 5c chip with the blue and yellow edge spots. I didn't notice that it was on the sun mold until it arrived. In my experience, BCC chips on the sun mold with inlays from fantasy (or even custom) sets often use the clay from another fantasy (or possibly custom) chip. Does anyone know of a chip that matches the clay of the chip on the bottom right?

I think they're a pretty close match. It's enough to make me wonder if these were random chips made with leftover clay or if there's a FOC set out there somewhere with more of these nickels. At any rate, I don't think anyone would be able to spot these five chips from across the table in a "dirty" stack:

Bought this POS from a facebook group seller this week. No mention of being warped lol. Says "he didn't notice". He is also resistant to refund me or make it right. At this point, I kinda hope he sticks me for the $7.50 so I can justifiably warn everybody else about his inability to notice or describe warped chips.

Edit - follow up from seller - "Just sent you 7.50 keep the chip, throw it away...I dont care, just dont ever want to do a deal with you again."

Anybody want a warped Tropicana Ramada $5 house mold chip? :D
Hmm...have to side with the seller on this one...I don't see a warp either  :ROFLMAO:

Isn't it amazing how shitty people will be over a matter of $7??? Unreal....

This is what happens when you can’t decide between primary or secondary chips… you just place a second order so that you have plenty of both!

Thanks!! I appreciate it! Let's just say I've been trying to up my chip game ;)

Yes, they are C&J. Pretty nice condition considering their age.
Funny thing about C&Js, I’m not even exactly sure how they’re different, but someone inside my brain knows, because as soon as I saw that picture, I thought “Those are C&Js!”

And then I thought that I didn’t know Olivia’s was that old. Is that a different Olivia’s than the one with the oversized inlays and amazing clay colors that everybody loves so much? I thought that place was from the ‘80s.

Yup. It's weird, but when you see a C&J, you just kinda can tell.

Shiny Hats is the key!

I wonder when C&J chips will start to pick up. I know most don't like them, but there are some nice ones out there.

I'm sure it will eventually but the harder/"slippier" clay, more basic colors and spot patterns, and overall maybe fewer available in qty compared to TRK are turnoffs for most. Still love a number of them as singles though I prefer the look of the Paulson molds.

Don't forget the weird sound. They sound much more like cpc than Paulsons, probably due to the lighter weight and harder/more brittle clay.
