You couldn't buy the real thing? Me neither.
Or maybe you think the originals don't look that great, and you could improve the line up? Bold!

Now let's see your tribute sets! CPC, card molds, Paulson, TRK are all welcome.

I will get us started with my Indio Bingo Palace tribute set (which does include the original $100 though). Credit to @JeepologyOffroad for the artwork, @Wifey & @Gear for the labels.

I authorize tribute sets to my 1980’s MacGyver hair style. Will make you millions.

Here’s my Paris tribute set. My surname is Parris and my kitchen (where I host my games) is known by my friends as the Parris Luxury Resort & Casino (they are sarcastic c***s  :ROFLMAO: )

Anyway… the $1s are genuine chips from the casino; the quarters are Rio $1s; the rest are boat chips and I can never remember whether they are Empress or Aurora.

Well done!

The chips that got me here - the Rio WSOP 818. In early 2020, I was watching an old stream following the Winamax pros at the WSOP on YouTube and after hours of watching the show, I thought « why not buy one high quality, really cool looking set from an old casino ». That’s how I found PCF…and obviously I couldn’t stop at one set  :ROFLMAO: I was a little bit budget conscious at the start of my chipping journey so, inspired by @Seeking Alpha Social Club own tribute, I went for a 4DS18 spot pattern. Credit to @Kakeesh for the artwork with the help of @Kid_Eastwood!

Pink $5 has a Cali vibe to it. Love it!

Killed it!!

I think the card molds group buys and the way it’s been organised here on PCF is game changer for our hobby. I’d order sets and sets of them if I had more space

My California Club tribute set. This was the first historical casino that I sort of latched onto and has been a collecting focus for very nearly my entire time as a chipper and collector. I had played with a tribute set for a little while but when the MD-50 mold became available, it was a no-brainer to be in on the first run of it with this set.

The detailed description of the genesis of this set, the design struggles and reasons for some of the photos are lost to a very detailed post I made the Blue Void. The photos here are lifted from the "gone but not forgotten" thread but are mine from back at that time. The memorabilia with the chips in the photos are all from my collection of items from the California Club as well and were picked at the time for one reason or another... likely because they worked well with the colors of the chips.

The only note as a ten year on postscript is the dates I used here have turned out to be incorrect... a bit. The documentation I had at the time said the Club opened in '46 but closed in early '51 and re-opened at the end of that same year. It turns out a place called the California Club was open in Reno in '46 but had it's chips confiscated by police and possibly never put into use. The likely proper open/close dates are '51 to '70. My OCD isn't so bad that I feel I need to change these, but makes an interesting piece of mistaken history for this small and mostly forgotten downtown casino.
