I assume they are just alternate currency inside the club, much like chips at a casino (except you can't cash them out for real money at the end of the night). Maybe they are sold at a discount to cash, maybe dancers prefer chips to carrying 10 chips instead of $1k in cash...

When (as here) someone forgets/fails to cash them in, the house makes a killing.

If you bet a $5 Match Play chip and win, you typically get the $5 MP chip + a $5 chip back. You keep the MP chip until you lose.

@Copper44 has some cool Match Plays from the D.
Ahh this makes sense thank you!

Also now thinking about it... many dancers out there have 1k plus nights... some much much more, if they carry their belongings and someone snatches their purse... the chips are worthless... if they try to come back and use them and the club see's an excessive about of chips not distributed that evening... while their is no proof. Doesn't mean the won't find a way to retaliate. Hmm maybe the Dancers turn in the Benjamin's for chips out of security... makes sense but still not for you to hand in your cash when they can't be cashed out!!

There are a lot of these from different clubs and in different denoms. There's BCC, Paulson, and ceramics in my photo folder with denoms ranging from $20 to £500.

Here is a live one now on eBay. Guys sounds so nice too when I made a cash offer after my bid... reserve is at $1200 - one of a kind he says

Wait. @Anthony Martino is a professional poker player and he's not handing out $25,000 chips. He's holding out on us.

EDIT: Thinking about it, @Anthony Martino, why don't you just send us each $500 and we can cut eBay out of the transaction. Saves us all some eBay fees, plus postage, etc. Kthanxbai.
