Time for a cocktail! (3 Viewers)

Just got a culinary smoking gun. Adds a smoky flavor to everything... popcorn, sea bass, basil ensalada, bourbon - and tonight's adult beverage, a martini.

I've learned that im just not into hard liquor 'neat'

Loving the good stuff with the ginger ale.

Don't shoot me Chris, but I did have several Santa Anas rum with ginger ale last weekend. Best rum and ginger ive had.
I've always said that it's your money and your choice. Just because I wouldn't drink, say, a Glenlivet 25 and Coke doesn't mean that I'll look down on you if you do.

And the more I dive into cocktails, the more I appreciate the difference when drinking a spirit forward drink that uses the good stuff.

I might have to try this...

No pictures, but I bought a bottle of Pimm's yesterday and tried a basic Pimm's Cup: Pimm's and ginger ale over ice.

I enjoyed it, but I need to try it next time with some lemon juice and a better ginger ale. Schweppes just doesn't cut it, but it was all I had at hand.

Pimm's Cup is one of my favorite summertime drinks. Yummm.

So after a sweaty afternoon of assembling furniture for my daughter (thanks, Ikea-bama), I decided to try another Pimm's Cup with better ingredients. I just kind of winged it since every recipe I've read seems to be a little different:

3oz Pimm's No.1
1.5oz lemon juice
6oz Fever Tree ginger beer
stir in glass with crushed ice

It is so much better, with a strong bite from the ginger beer, tartness from the lemon, and enough Pimm's for the bitter orange to come through. Yum.

Mai tai

6cl dark rum
3cl lime juice
1,5cl triple sec
1cl sugar syrup
0,5cl almond syrup
(every amount trippled, thats why the glasses are pretty full. YOLO)

Have to figure out a way to make clear ice in a freezer with small drawers, cant fit a coolbox inside...
