Tina has a new machine.

I placed an order a few days ago and today she asked me whether I wanted the colors of the old or the new machine.

The new colors look a little stronger, but also different in shade. Now lots of people will have to adjust to the new colors again (sorry @Cratty ).

Just wanted to let you know in case you are planning to order soon.

Wow, some of those are pretty drastic differences. This will be a pain in the ass for people trying to color match older orders or add onto existing sets…

The colors do look much better but I understand in the pov of someone who wants to do an add on it will be a pain in the ass. And all cratty’s hard work and time on the colormatching basicly going to ‘waste’

Well.. as long as there is support for the old machine, think we'll be relatively ok for now. That said, is interesting go see how drastic the difference is in the (orange?) spot on the first chip.

Are the "new" colors closer to your source images?

Something I guess we'll have to work around now! But for inlay color matching.. that's always going to be a game of close enough with inlay supplier and color variation, don't think it will ever be perfect. Older prints/add-ons IMO are likely the most concerning too.

That's the thing. Sometimes I prefer the old colors, sometimes the new ones. But of course I don't yet know how I would have to adjust the colors so that the new chips look the way I want them to.

We'll see - I'll post the pictures here then. Including CMYK data, whereby one or the other would be surprised how the color looks on the screen - simply because I know (at least with the old colors) how they will look on the chip.

Thanks! Hopefully the new colors are closer to source, which overall would be a good thing moving forward.. but if not.. what the hell Tina. Ha
