Tourney PLO: Ace-High Flush (2 Viewers)

I can't imagine a repot with a hand we beat, but I don't know his game, and it's 3 handed. Does he do this with a Q high flush? A naked Jh bluff? Prolly not. Maybe I can find a fold here.

In a 2,000 BB deep cash game with $0.25/$0.50 blinds, this hand is the equivalent of starting the hand with $1,000 effective, and then betting a $9.50 pot on the river and getting raised to $38. Just to put that in perspective.

Yeah, I'm thinking in a bloated pot 7-10 handed game where the river repot is actually a significant bet, in a very Dee game, I find the fold here unless it's a specific player read of spazz tilt or beer equity at play.

Wait, is there another option I'm not considering??

In fact, now that you mention it, yes there is. Hero could cast himself into an endless pit of shame and despair by playing for stacks.

He did. I meant after he checked to the raiser and I bet, he has a third option besides calling and folding. ;)
I was making a bad joke, that I thought you could check after a raise. Is it funnier now that I explained it?

So did he raise?

Hero re-pots to 7,410, Bentax reraises all-in to 9,690, Hero calls.

Bentax shows :js::jh::9s::7h: for a jack-high straight flush.

To be fair to Hero, it was his first time ever running into a straight flush with an otherwise "nut" hand.

Join the club. This actually happened to me in a TAHOE cash game with Guinness and he won something like $400. I had the otherwise nut hand :-( Then again, to fold the second nuts to Guinness calls into question the validity of your very existence.

Did he have a pat hand in the hole or something? That's the thing about TAHOE that gets me. You can never really have the nuts without having a straight flush—usually a royal—in the hole.

Against Bentax? Fold. The guy is a huge NIT ;)

Hell I saw him fold the 2nd nuts against @MatB

I don't think I asked at the time, but was there ever a thought about folding for 2280 more after my 4-bet all-in? I realize at that point you're getting better than 10-1 to call, but 2280 was almost one-third of your remaining chips.

Nope. Once I decided to re-pot, you were gonna have to show me the straight flush to take down that pot.

I was showing down the ace-high flush one way or the other. It was just a matter of whether I wanted to make a small mistake or a huge mistake.

Nah, there was a flush on the board and he turned the straight flush when I turned my nut flush. It was a double gutter with 57 or something so literally never saw it coming.
