I haven't seen any mention here, so I'd like to hear some thoughts on these two tidbits....

Joe at PGI posted on the other board a few weeks ago, in a thread titled "Sorry for the absence" , 2 very interesting developments:

1) - They have started using the clay chip making equipment & scroll mold they purchased ( from Espania if I recall.?), and are ironing out some kinks in the automatic lathing of the finished chips, & may have real clays, w/ real inlays, avail in 2016...

2) - Just as interesting, he mentions he has developed clay blanks, and may import these blanks, then simply press them with inlays over here on the clay equipment, and, supposedly this will be, not a "sticker labeled chip, but a Real pressed Inlay , to qoute, " an overseas blank chip that can be pressed here with a permanent inlay- you cant tell the difference between this pressed overseas clay and the real deal"...
but will be priced much lower than current clays ...
I am curious about the formula difference between these "clay blanks" and the conventional clays ...
Hopefully Joe & PGI will get these things going in 2016 .... Thoughts?

Joe has talked about making clay chips for years now with no progress to show for it. I won't hold my breath.

Im gonna stick with CPC, their customer service is above and beyond. Unless I'm proven otherwise, I agree with JButler

We are probably more likely to see the mentioned hybrid of the new China clay blank with the real pressed inlay, before the actual clays , .. if I recall, Joe had mentioned in the past that his Casino customers ask for a clay chip, but labels/stickers made all their current imports a non starter ....

Taking existing slugs and heating them up to press an inlay seems odd, but it might be a budget option if it goes to fruition. In the end however, I think you'll be getting what you pay for.

That's pretty much how CPC does it.

But I'll believe the PGI rumors when I have actual sample chips in hand. And I'm not holding my breath, or taking any under wagers.
