Sitting Out
so i read somewhere (which i'm trying to find) that someone put the chips in a ziplock bag and in the ultrasonic cleaner. what's the general consensus on that approach? and can anyone point me to it?

200 wow never knew that many could go inI think people are being a little over cautious. I throw 200 chips at a time into the 6L cleaner and use a wooden cooking spatula to stir fry the chips like Chinese food.
Zero scratches on the chips. Water is like a lubricant that helps protect chips from scratching. There’s a lot more potential to scratch them in a real pot when you’re playing IMO when it’s all mixed together and people spread the pot to count how much is in the pot.
Will do. Before and afters are required.Post some pics of those Cali Bells after the bath
WOW!!! So glad I took your advice and got the Roadhouse set and not the others we were talking about!!! I'm ready for the next game!!!!As promised @Donvito, before and afters. Oiling still to come... but turned out good. 1300 chips in an hour and a half. 40 secs at 110F no pre soak on the RHCs. 2.5mins at 110F no pre soak on the Cali Bells... May try pre soak on Cali Bells next time I do some.

Same here! I appreciate all the caution, and to each their own, but for me, it's really not that serious. You don't need a salad spinner, or distilled water, you don't need to presoak, or to do 2 barrels at a time... you just need some warm water, TSP, stir with wooden spoon for 1-2 mins depending on the grime (2 mins for the Roadhouse), and then dump in a bucket of warm water to rinse.I think people are being a little over cautious. Then use the oil and water method to oil.
Took me 1 hour to wash and oil 700 Roadhouse.
Roadhouse chips really clean up nicely! As promised @Donvito, before and afters. This probably has been answered deep in this thread but I'm lazy to read thru,
my friend owns china clays and was wondering if its safe to clean in my Ultrasonic cleaner
Can anyone who has tried ultrasonic with China clays speak up pleaseI don't see why not. I don't think I've ever tried, though. I sold my CC Pharaohs before I got my ultrasonic.
I've done it, no problemCan anyone who has tried ultrasonic with China clays speak up please
How long did you run itI've done it, no problem
Mine were not bad, 45 seconds was all it took. From the ultrasonic to a bucket of warm water to rinse, then straight into the oil/water bathHow long did you run it

How are you removing the chips from the ultrasonic? Seems like one purpose of the spinner is ease of lifting them from the tank.
