Silly question but how does CPC usually ship? UPS? Signature required?
Most orders that don't fit in a USPS large flat rate box will ship UPS with signature required. I had two bad experiences with CPC orders from USPS. Same with UPS they're sent with request for signature, but one time the mail carrier left the box on my doorstep, no signature, and the second time, they didn't but left a note to pick it up at the post office. I go to the post office the next day and they don't have it. Luckily it was a Saturday and it was on the truck to be delivered and my wife was home and signed for it, but it was still a nervous 24 hours.

With UPS I have the app and get app and email notifications when I have inbound packages. Checked my app yesterday and I had a tracking number from CPC. I was able to pay the 6 bucks and have it redirected to my local UPS store so I can pick it up there.

I had no idea that for $6 you can have it shipped to your local store for pickup. Definitely be looking into that on my next order. Long story but on my shipment a week ago I drove around after missing delivery and luckily found the truck somehow. Definitely be worth $6!!

Definitely is. Sign up for an account with UPS (free), input your address and sign up for notifications when you have an inbound package shipped via UPS. About as trouble free as it gets.

Last year, I didn't even have to pay a fee to have my chips redirected to my local UPS Store. It was a free service. Interesting that they charge for it now.

Same here; I’ve never had a charge for redirecting to my local ups store.

Wait... you pay $6 for the privilege of doing their job?!

I’ve only had perfect results with my local USPS carriers and a terrible time with others. Signature required doesn’t work because we’re never reliably home but our neighborhood is quite safe and I’ve had many expensive packages sit all afternoon without being worried.

I recently rerouted a package with FedEx and I spent 8 days with it saying it was moving back and forth between distro center and the location I had requested. Called several times and got a useless call center. Finally just drove to nearby location and turns out it has been siting there a week.

Hoping my CPCs fit in a LFRB, maybe something I’ll contact David about

Heh, odd, I've had to pay going back at least two years. Maybe I just have a greedy regional outpost. Either way, it's just a part of the cost of shipping for me. I already pay over $100 for shipping for insurance and signature confirmation on any large order as is. It's a low cost relative to the headaches that could happen.

UPS My Choice is $19.95 a year and not worth it at all. Just this morning I tried to update my home address (not for a shipment, just updating my new address) and their system won't let me. Many times when a package was supposed to be delivered, they'll bail towards the evening. You'll get notification that will say something stupid like "Unable to deliver. Business closed." It's a frickin' HOUSE! Their website and apps are designed by morons and have a terrible user experience. As I'm typing this damn message, I finally get my callback I was waiting for (to change my home address) and the call immediately drops. If they didn't have their heads up their ass they might not have to lay off 12,000 people right now. Sorry to vent, but UPS sucks! FedEx is way more reliable.

Ah, thought it was just the Norwegian branch that sucked and used those same crappy excuses for not delivering. Sigh.

On the CPC website :
Unless specifically requested otherwise, shipping for chip only orders of 800 chips or less will be by USPS Priority Mail, and all larger orders will be by UPS Ground (or UPS Air for International). All shipping will be direct from the factory in Maine.

Shipping notice!!! ;):D:LOL: :laugh::D:D

I drove by the shop on my way home from my mother in law's. I wonder if I could just pick an order up and save on shipping.

Time to get the oil ready, clear some space on the bookshelf...and come up with a suitable story for the wife!
1. If you don't think I already told her this morning, "oh shit, they're out for delivery", then you e underestimated me, sir.

2. Space on the bookshelf? Every bookshelf we have is overflowing with my wife's book collection. I say collection, because she usually owns them digitally and the physical copies because, "look how pretty it is though!"

If there is a wife that'd be more understanding, they'd be stranger than us weird clay collectors lol.

Oil and rag ready, and soon I'll get the oil and rag for the chips ready too
