Vegas poker (and rugby) in March. (2 Viewers)

I believe the $3 chips are both taken, but I'm at Bellagio now (probably my last session of the trip :() so I'll try to see if I can get my hands on anymore.

Awesome trip report and hope the wins keep on coming!

How did you pull off the backpack? No one stopped you?

Thanks! I'm actually stuck a couple hundred at the moment, but I haven't had a losing session so far this trip, so I'm hoping to turn it around before I call it a night. I think making sure I ate $50 worth of food at the Aria buffet (to "break even") is having a negative impact of my play :)

Backpack hadn't been an issue. I don't fill it right at the cashier, I pretend I'm buying into a limit game, then fake a phone call, pretend I can't hear well and leave the poker room so I can continue the call. Probably don't have to bother with doing all that, I doubt the cashiers really care what I do with the chips.

On the other hand, today when I brought back 300 chips to the Venetian I just went up to the cashier, asked for three empty racks. She asked why. I said because I have 300 $1 chips in my backpack in chips boxes and I want to keep the boxes. She looked confused, but gave me the racks. I filled them up in front of her. She looked slightly amused.

Finally got what I had been waiting all night for. Hit top set (999) against someone with a big pocket pair (QQ). Wet board, 985 two diamonds. We get it in, turn is 7d, river is 6d.

Good news is neither of his queens are diamonds. Bad news is we're both playing the board and split what could have been a very juicy $1000+ pot. Oh well :)

Back above my total buyin ($800), counting the 25-30 $1 chips in my pocket. Made a nice river call with ace high to take down a $100 pot against my opponents Q high river bluff. Might be a good time to cash out and go say hi to @k9dr at Aria ;)

Last session in the books. Made a nice comeback after almost immediately dumping 300 of my first 500 buyin. Topped back up to 500 and was in for 800 total. Held there most of the night, then made a run and ended up cashing out for 1175.

Off to bed now. Gotta figure out how to spend my $24 comp dollars in the morning :)

Instead of putting a $20 into that, go somewhere and break it down to quarters. Then, find a bunch of kids, throw it in the air, and yell "Free Money!" It's a lot more fun, costs the same amount (with the same odds of winning - zero), and if you discuss your plan with a degen in the area, you can wager which kids will collect the most.

Rest assured, there will be no twenties going into that machine, nor any other machine. Not a fan of the slots. Aside from the rake from playing poker, I didn't give the casinos a single cent of my money.

Great thread. Great photos.

You also managed to capture one of Australia's biggest rugby stars in your parade pic (guy on the far right with all the tattts is Quade Cooper who for some reason was playing in the 7's format).

Sounds like it was a lot of fun, you seemed to be up most sessions, so hopefully between the harvesting, Spinettis, and other non-gaming expenses you might have broken even or up, which is outstanding. Thanks for pics of fat stacks and other happenings, helps fill the void between trips for the rest of us!

Looked like a great time! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!(y)

Great trip report and safe travels back. Picture of the harvest bounty?

Thanks!

I will take some pictures of the final harvest tonight after I unpack. Currently there's about 500 chips in my suitcase and 200 in my backpack (y)

It was a lot of fun. Didn't get to play nearly as much poker as I would have liked to, but I knew that was going to happen when I planned this trip. Ended up playing almost all 2/5 NLHE, except for a couple hours of 4/8 limit Omaha 8 so that I could justify buying 3 racks of $1 chips at the cage (though in hindsight I don't think the cashier cared one way or another). I wish I had played at least one session of PLO while I was there, but it just didn't work out as I never made it to Aria on the last night we were there. I intended to, but then I got stuck a couple hundred dollars playing 2/5 at Bellagio and was being stubborn about leaving while I was behind. I did manage to turn that session around and ended up ahead almost 400 up, but by then I was too tired to head over to Aria to start playing PLO.

Here's a quick poker/chip harvest/food summary:

Poker (+2400)
Thursday Night - Bellagio 2/5 NLHE - in for $500, out for $750 (+250)
Friday Afternoon - Venetian 2/5 NLHE - in for $800, out for $1120 (+320)
Friday Afternoon - Venetian 4/8 Omaha/8 - in for $320, out for $425 (+105)
Friday Evening - Bellagio 2/5 NLHE - in for $500, out for $1850 (+1350)
Saturday Evening - Aria 2/5 NLHE - in for $800, out for $813 (+13)
Sunday Evening - Bellagio 2/5 NLHE - in for $800, out for $1175 (+375)

Chips Harvest (+700)
Bellagio $1 chips - 220. Cherry picked about 100 during play. Bought another 700 chips to cherry pick the remaining 120.
Venetian/Palazzo $1 chips - 460. Bought over 1000 chips to harvest the 460 I wanted.
Silver Sevens $1 chips - 20
Arizona Charlie's $1 chips - 0 :(

Food (+6 lbs)
Thursday Dinner - In and Out
Friday Breakfast - Egg and I
Friday Lunch - Mint Indian Bistro
Friday Dinner - Pieology
Saturday Breakfast - Mr. Mamas
Saturday Lunch - PDQ
Saturday Dinner - Julian Serrano - Tapas
Sunday Morning - Roberto's Taco Shop for breakfast burritos
Sunday Lunch - roasted nuts at the stadium (had to save room for the buffet)
Sunday Dinner - Aria Buffet
Monday Breakfast - Bellagio Buffet
Monday Lunch - In and Out

Here's a few harvest pictures I forgot I had on my phone from before I packed up.

1) Sharp edged Bellagio $1 chips. Most are like-new, just a light cleaning of the rolling edge of some of them is needed.

2) Sharp edged Venetian $1 chips. Some are bright and mint, some are dirty, but they should all clean up and look pretty consistent (and near-mint) after.

3) Used Venetian $1 chips (to better match the condition of the existing Nooksack chips). Actually wish these were actually a little more used. I did weed out the ones with major chips or nicks, and in the ends, these should work well with the existing $5/25 chips in the set in terms of condition.
