Vegas trip report - In search of a (WSOP) ring [19/03/25 - 31/03/25) (74 Viewers)

Yep! I will always schedule flights to avoid Chicago, then avoid NY second. Memories of thunderstorms in Chicago and every concourse full, no seats/charge points available and hundreds of people sitting on the floor. Mayhem.

All I remember is Chicago being a layover in between going to Finland or coming back to the US and switching terminals/customs and everything is really stretching it on time. Even I think we've had a 2 hour layover and it's been close every single time.

A nice relaxing day to start…

It just doesn’t get any better than waking up in Vegas with this view

After breakfast, a first visit at the Spinettis crew

Always awsome to hang out and talk shop with the boys.

Next was a great lunch at Green Valley Ranch in excellent company.

Find the 2 chip legends

Great meeting you Jim, looking forward to see you in Philly.

No plans for tonight yet, hitting the strip tomorrow for first tourney.

Have a great evening/day my friends…

I know Chicago is not the best option but I still prefer it above a direct flight of 14h (that still requires to fly out to Paris, Frankfurt or London).
Since I blacklisted Londen, plenty of other options are not possible.

The good thing about O’Hare is it’s about 9h (the most I can bare without a smoke) 3h layover and only a 4 hour flight left. Newark is 8 hours with another flight of almost 6h and only 2h layover.
The NY flight is always about 200 more due more business people on board.

TSA / customs are MUCH less frustrating than the 2h wait in Vegas when 3 or 4 planes land on the same time. Now I was past Customs before my bags arrived at the carousels and I can just walk out in Vegas.
