Don't think there's a thread for this yet, but there should be!

I always find it interesting to read the chipping history lessons from the likes of @gmunny, @Jeff in Iowa, @CrazyEddie, @BGinGA, @David Spragg, and many more. And I think we should have a thread dedicated to playable sets on vintage molds! Any commentary from the history gurus or the common man is obviously encouraged.

I'll start with this little set on the MD-28, the "X" mold.

Hardly optimal breakdown, but I guess for a small travel set it could do the trick? But on a rare vintage mold!

40+ spares in 4 different colors. Weight between 8g and 8.5g/chip, a little different from color to color.

More info and discussion in a thread I made specifically for these last year.

Hope every time you win a hand with these you shout: "X marks the pot!"

I love the T-mold and utterly adore the shallow spots on these. It's a shame CPC can't make those happen.

What a great set, Oscar!
Thank you! It's very unique and I enjoy the shallow spots too. Something you don't see often on other molds.

My flower (floral) mold set. MD-72
The mold is (was?) owned by the game company George & Co, who sold these from their store. Chips were made by ASM, and it's predecessors I believe.

Rack each of 25c, 50c, $1, $5 (missing one or two chips unfortunately) + yellow, purple and gray GCK hotstamps.

Plan is to mill these for a tourney set, but not completely set in stone yet.

I looked through a whole bunch of mine when I got them because I was so amazed that they were "new old stock". Although the stamps weren't perfect, they weren't like that one. That one's crazy!

It's funny, when I think of my vintage set I think of the mold being vintage (large Greek and small Greek keys)... But I actually think that my C&J set (The Post & Mint Club) might technically be older... Maybe I'll have to do a photo shoot of them today and post them here as well.

LGK is great too. I have 1900 Dragonaras coming to me in the mail as we speak. I’ll be doing a relabel with a good portion of them. J5 doing artwork so it should look incredible. My guy is on the older side so doesn’t take the best pics but he’s had boxes of these things laying around for years.

Nice! Yeah LGK has a great feel. That purple one with the beige/maroon spots is dreamy.
