What’s you’re golf handicap? (7 Viewers)

Used to be a 14, haven't played in about 7-8 years so I'd be lucky to be in the 20's. Don't even know if I could swing anymore with my back.

5.1. Still waiting on that first round under par, tomorrow morning should be it.

I was a +2.1 at my peak, which was when i was 16-20 years old.

Now, at 30, I hardly play, and when i do, it’s a lot uglier. Currently a 6.1 on paper.

The bad rounds never seem to count but this is my most up to date

Hit a PR today,
112 not great, but beats the previous 116 best

55 front (par 37), 57 back (par35). First 3 holes on the back killed me with 3 double pars

2 pars on the front nine, neither one had a single putt... which has only ever happened for me once before.

Only played for a bit in my youth. Don't think I've ever hit a birdie.

What a waste of working and playing for free for years on a five star course.

Of course now that it'll be expensive and time consuming, I'm hoping to get back into it.

how often do you play or practice?

I try to get out until Nov if possible. Not the most ideal of conditions but it’s still golf!

The best I ever shot was a 83 on a random 18 hole course in Northeast Florida when I was 18.

I haven't played 18 holes since then (over 10 years). Have only played 9 hole courses since then and haven't been out on a course in over five years.

A good 9 hole round is around 45 for me. Typically I land between 50-55. As you can tell I go out with friends and drink beers rather than take it seriously. That would make my handicap somewhere in the 30's, I think?

Playing roughly once per week. Don’t have time to practice during the week. Looking to get lessons next spring. Golf season here only has about 4 more weeks left.
Do you play exclusively at a home course/country club or a variety of places? I find it to be WAY harder to score consistently when playing different courses

We play a few courses. Today, the course i played was new to me. It was harder than the one I normally play at too. Some of the courses by me are just too pricey for me ($75-90 per round). I’ll drive 30 min to save $40. I’ve played a par 62 a few times as well, and generally shoot in the low 90’s there.

I’m pretty much the same. I have a collection of courses that I’ll play but usually I only play them like once a year. I try to keep my green fees around $45-$50 tops and have nice options in that range at the right time of day. Prices for early morning to noon on the weekends will add up quick around here so I opt for early afternoon to even 430/500 in the summer when the sun stays out longer

about a 12, but I've recorded one round in three years due to ACL, herniated discs, etc. I played last week at the OBX and shot an 85, so i'm still somewhere right around there. Lowest total round was 75 and lowest 9 was 32 (that was not my lowest round, so the back was way worse). I don't play for a while due to life, then I get back out and remember how much I love playing.

Note to self... not playing with you....

I haven't played much at all in the last 3 or 4 years. Never had an official handicap,
but back when I was playing once or twice a week, I was probably a 14. I mostly played
easier courses. Probably closer to 18 on more difficult courses.
Round of my life was a 74 and that was with 9 clubs in my bag and a club and a half wind.

Just started playing again regularly after about 15 years mostly off (kids sports). It has been a complete sh*t show. Current handicap is 23.1! I used to be a bogey golfer. My last few rounds have been much better though. I should be shooting in the high 80s now. Two weeks ago, I had a 6 hole stretch that I played in 3 under! Par birdie, par, birdie, birdie, par. Safe to say that will probably never happen again! I'm just really happy to be playing again.

I'd say 11-12 but I don't have an official handicap.

Here's my last two rounds.

Not very solid iron play today.

Did I see a 7 wood in there? Curious as to why that instead of a hybrid or two? I know its all personal preference. I don't even carry a 5 wood anymore, straight from 3 wood to a 3 hybrid. I put in a 4th wedge instead, now I have 60, 56, 52 and 48 degree wedges. I really just use the 60 for almost everything around the green.
