I think it's a no brainer that Poker Index sized cards are best for Texas Hold'em; What is your preferred index size (Bridge or Poker) for games like PLO, 2-7 draw, Razz or Stud.

I also can't help but notice how many card companies there are with Piatnik, Kem, Cpag, NTP, Fournier, Modiano, etc. making me wish I could order a card sample set. . . nonetheless I'm more than positive I'll end up with more decks than I have fingers in good time, just wanting to prioritize which I get first.
Do you guys have a favorite deck color? - I'm thinking Orange/Brown.

Thanks for all your opinions, I can't wait to explore my options!

Best overall quality ... Fournier

My picks... DalNegro, KEM, Modiano Platinum

Cards of the Year 2023........2012 WSOP Fournier cards (standard index unfortunately but luckly Bicycle grafics)

Always look for quality vs dollar spent ratio. If you have an option for dirt cheap Copags or regular Modiano, go for it.

Lotta threads already on this like @w00zie said, but your first sentence is wrong and thats a good thing! No brainers don't exist with this many opinions!

I've got way too many cards, love them more than poker chips. Personal favorites are Fournier EPT or the Bicycle Prestige, but I cast a pretty wide net. I don't like brown/orange cards though; red/black, red/blue, green/purple, or even black/green.

For me, the most inexpensive quality cards:
2012 used WSOP Fourniers on eBay for $2.50 per deck, when purchased as 4 setups.
But they’re stiff.

The best feeling cards: KEM. Expensive, and higher maintenance.

The best shuffling and maybe best value: Broken Arrow, $10 per setup for great cards in a nice box.

I located 1 seller for the WSOP 2012 Fournier/Bicycle/KEM deck on eBay, but their shop is on vacation. . .
any other neat/rare decks I should be aware of? Are all of the WSOP decks generally higher quality or is it just hit or miss depending on the event year? ( couldn't help but notice all the other WSOP decks from 2000's-current ) Are the WPT decks any good? Sorry for the question bombs, thanks for all the good information!

Guess I was being a little closed minded, I can't wait to get out there and explore my options! Definitely adding the Fournier WPT to the list of cards for the collection, thanks! :)

You might not have your descriptors quite right. Index size is the size of the numbers and suits in the corner - generally two options - standard (small) and jumbo.
Poker or bridge refers to the size of the card itself. Poker size cards are a bit wider than bridge size cards (though, oddly, the narrower bridge size are the standard for casino poker rooms.)

So my preferred index size is jumbo because I need reading glasses to figure out standard.
And I prefer bridge size cards because they’re the standard, but honestly I don’t care.
I like thinner, flexy cards so I lean toward KEM and Modiano and even copag.

Desijn and broken arrow have a nice thin flex about them. :)

You are absolutely right, I had no idea there were two separate sizes of cards. The whole time I thought the only Bridge and Poker terms were in reference to the index sizes. It also has something to do with me never being dealt a poker sized card in the card games I've played. Thank you for informing me correctly!
KEM and Modiano seem to be a crowd favorite, excited to get my hands on them.

Never heard of Broken Arrow until now, I'll have give them a looksie!

I have Copags, Bicycles and Faded Spade, and I love the Faded Spade.

Copags is also awesome.

I've yet to try KEMs.

Feel-wise the Cartamundi Acetate (bridge) cards to me are the finest I have ever used.

Aesthetic-wise nothing beats Copag regular index for me; love the bold and distinctive pip design and wish more companies made them like this. Desjgn standard index and Faded Spade are close runner ups.

If you want smooth, excellent quality cards that are super thin, Kems are fantastic.

But not so much if you want cards that will last.

You've never played with poker sized cards?
So you've only played cards in a casino?
Because for me I'd only ever played with poker size cards until my first time playing with bridge size in a casino.

Another vote for bridge size with jumbo index. Easier to shuffle, board takes up less table space. Jumbo index makes it easier for everyone to read across the table.

I tried out my Broken Arrow cards last night and love how they shuffle.

I like how Copag cards feel and look but HATE how they smell. I have had a deck for years and still cannot play with them because they give me a headache. No one else at the table seems to mind though.

I am probably in the minority here but I really like Da Vinci cards. Shuffle easily, feel nice, readable, affordable.

The statesman bridge decks from @xdan got used for the first time Saturday night and I have to say I’m a huge fan. Easy to pick up and to gather up. Shuffling was very easy. Love em. Can’t wait to try the broken arrows I’ve got coming also.

Broken Arrow are very similar to Faded Spade, IMO.

Do not agree....I have a sets that been played over 5 years, they do not shuffle as good as at the begining byt no marks that compromize integrity of the game

Anecdotal evidence doesn't discount the fact this is a widespread problem. If you wanna trade stories I have 3 Kem setups; 1 warped after 2 uses, 1 warped before being put into play, and the last arrived warped (all 3 were bought new), and these stories are extremely common, so... yeah.

Safe to say I will never purchase Kem again.

I do not agree. Played with both Faded Spade and Broken Arrow last night to compare. Faded Spade is much thicker and for me more slippery. I found the thickness made picking up a deck a bit harder and the slipperiness made box cutting messy. I decided last night I am not a Faded Spade fan.

If you can't see the larger king behind the smaller at least there are measurements.

*I didn't create this
Yup, wasnt a shot at you. Just silly that the whole point is juxtaposition and they put the cards off-center each other and put it over a white background. Maybe Ill make a better version if I remember.

Thickness felt similar but the shuffle was smoother. The design is similar as well; felt FS is the closest overall comparison.

Yep. Threw my Faded Spade to the bottom of the card drawer a couple months ago. They didn't even last an orbit before most of the table requested I change then out for the same reasons. Very slippery when shuffling and two misdeals in just an orbit with pitching.

I changed over to desjgn classic diamonds (bridge blackjack index) and everyone was happy.
