Because some people want to know what kind of people they are dealing with. I for one would not want to deal with a serial liar. Deals all go fine till one day you buy a $6K set and it never shows up? Play poker IRL at a table and what>>> Come on man, this story just gets more FOS as it develops. Guys running a scam game like that take you out to the woodshed if you question them. period. and if you got the money back and escaped unbeaten, who continues to "investigate"....... At some point the folks need to be told they're reading fiction, instead of all this doubling down on a story that gets more incredulous as it goes.

I'm not one of the nut huggers on this site who thinks he's a caped crusader. Nor am I a hater who needs to troll every one of his threads or post threads to troll him.

Give @Windwalker some level of decency/respect. I think he's literally given away a few grand worth of chips lately. It's not fair to insinuate that he's going to scam someone because you don't believe the account in this thread.

ya know @TheDuke I'm with ya there. I didn't say @Windwalker would scam anyone. I said know who you're dealing with. As for trolling, please...if you post things like this and claim they're absolutely true and double down by adding details like the ones in said story you can certainly expect to get called out. Some people meet up here in RL, this isn't some fantasy community, these are real PEOPLE. What you call trolling is simply because multiple people have asked for this fantasy to be exposed for what it is and the OP refuses to address it and skirt around it, call racism and go dark. I assume with his experience in PR he knows how to spin and ditch to make inquisitors look suspect. As for respect....... respect this community by NOT spinning yarns as absolute truth. I liked WW without him having to bolster his image and now I just question everything. You know like the boy that cried wolf. I'm no hater sir, nor a troll, I also wont let you spin me and play on or fawn because you gave away a few grand worth of chips. Does it make you such a good person because you give things away?? PLEASE..... Jeffery Epstein gave things away too....

I hate to take this more off topic, but this response is by definition racist. See the book How to the Be An Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi. Minimizing your own mistakes and not admitting we were all raised in a racist world and being willing to face our own implicit bias is racist because it is not anti-racist. Including vehemently denying you are racist.

I really appreciated @Windwalker calling this out because it did grab my attention, despite the fact it is not the topic of the thread.
 
I’m done with this ridiculous thread. It is absolute garbage. If it started with this is my fantasy I’d have happily followed along. Racism please. Spare me. Enjoy the tale yall. PS. I’d have more respect for the OP if he admitted this was mostly fantasy.

Those of us with $100 family company empires are too busy with the grind to take “lunch”. Must be nice to be able to stop and smell the trees for a moment.

PS bad news everybody I just patented the concept of a short midday sabbatical from work designed to provide oneself with both rest and sustenance.
 
People go to great lengths to swindle that much money from people. I don’t doubt the story is real. Also most victims of a con don’t ever report it because they feel stupid for falling for it. To admit to being taken advantage of takes some courage as well.

and it’s not really surprising that people running private high stakes games who offer credit are willing to cheat. The whole operation is breaking the law in the first place.

im not saying that breaking any law is a slippery slope to going full blown scum but running something like this sure makes for a smooth transition.
 
A LOT of good advice here!
I‘ll throw my two cents in as well…
If I’m at a casino and playing well but getting slammed/sucked out on each hand, I might stay for one more rebuy. If my hands keep getting cracked, I move on to another table.

Now don’t think I’m nuts but over the years I’ve noticed that the “collective vibe“ of the players at the table dictates the outcome of my game. If I feel a negative vibe (especially after seeing miserable expressions at the table) I tend to lose more often even while playing well. If I feel a lighter/positive vibe then I fare better in my play. It’s been tested and proven over the years, so I made a rule that if I bust at a negative table then I usually move on. If the same happens at another table, I call it quits for the night and try again tomorrow instead of a futile search for a good table.
If my run is good and I’m up by a lot, then I walk away when my body screams for sleep.

In home games it’s different. I will rebuy multiple times just to stay in the game and share in the friendly social event. If I’m down 2-3 rebuys I’ll take a short break and return to the game. I don’t mind losing to friends I know, but I need to reset my mojo.
