Tourney What prize pool split % among top 3 players? (1 Viewer)

Say I have a 10 player tourney and I want to split the pot 3 ways, how do you recommend I break down the percentages? TY.

Although 60%/30%/10% is my preference when paying three spots, which I only do with 12 or more players (top 25% of field size, maximum).

I think Im going to go with 3 payouts for 10 players as I want to encourage more players to come back for the next game. Down the road it probably makes sense to only have 2 payouts.

The other option is "get your money back" in spot #3 and do 60/30/10, but I guess #3 wants to feel like they won something?

I like 100/0 as well. Solid. Play like the pros do. Don't be Nooker with a 7th place finish out of 10 players.

I've always been partial to 60/30/10, but sometimes the guys want to do stuff like 70/30/$X where $X is the cost of one buy-in. I don't have a problem with that per se but with all the side bets going on it's just one more thing to keep track of. Needless to say when I'm hosting we stick to straight percentages.
