Just as the title states. Discussing it here at the Alamo and no one knows. Just curious if anyone does?

good question. How about the first house mold on fantasy chips. I was thinking Desert Palms ??

First ever casino house mold? Or first Paulson-produced casino house mold?

There's an argument to be made that the first 'house' mold wasn't a casino mold at all, but made for a re-seller..... and there were a bunch in the old days. Most of what's being produced by CPC today, in fact.

Need a more defined request. :)

I think both the PAULSON CHIPS and Paulson's suits/card pip mold predates the DP chips. Unless you mean a fictitious name mold.... in which case the River Poker Tour might have been sooner, although not a clay mold.....

I wouldn't consider Paulson Chips a house mold, Paulson is not a casino, but fictitious casinos are ok. River Poker Tour, got any pics ? Justsomedudes question is a great one. What was the first real casino house mold ?

Doesn't get any more house mold than PAULSON CHIPS, son. Now if you're talking about casino house molds, that's different.

But the first actual house mold - if defined by a mold that was commissioned, owned, and used exclusively by somebody other than the chip manufacturer - a bunch of those go back a long, long way.

First actual casino name house mold, I was just reading about that the other day. I'm thinking it was produced by Paulson, but can't remember offhand for whom.

River Poker Tour, got any pics ?

Although Robert Eisenstadt states on his web site that the house mold was "First used by a Nevada casino in the mid-1960's", the chipguide lists the Dunes chip as manufactured in 1956.

I'd consider this the definitive answer, from the CPC web site:

"In 1954 the Burt Company introduced the first multi-colored edge spots and the first house mold at the Golden Nugget. A house mold casts the name or logo of a casino into the rim of the chip."

So @justsomedude @David O -- Golden Nugget, circa 1954.

Awesome info, @BGinGA!!! Thank you for the research and info. This is pretty damn cool to know!

Whilst we are engaging in a history lesson, any idea if the rest of the trops in that set with the blue $1 were produced at the same time? Or were they made on an ongoing basis for a number of years?

Also that 1956 dunes chip looks epic.

Edit. Found the answer myself on chip guide.
