Looks like Burt Co. made their chips

The Burt company began in 1912 making billiard balls in Portland Maine. They expanded their business making compression molded clay poker chips from 1936 -1988. During that time, they manufactured clay poker chips for all the Las Vegas casinos and sold them through a network of distributors that included, H.C. Williams, Bud Jones, Christy and Jones, TK Specialty, Langworthy and Mason.

In 1988, Jim Blanchard aquired all the assets from the Burt Company, renamed the company Atlantic Standard Molding and continued making poker chips in Portland Maine for 24 years until August this past year. Blanchard decided to retire and sold the assets to Michael Dambach and Red Ott.

The company has since moved to Las Vegas and is operating under the name American Standard Molding.

Jim Blanchard established a great brand of clay poker chips commonly referred to as "ASM" chips among chip enthusiasts. Michael and Red wanted to preserve the brand but felt changing the name with the move to Las Vegas to "American Standard Molding" was appropriate since it was no longer on the East coast.

Today, you can buy ASM chips made in Las Vegas wether you are a casino or you want the best custom clay poker chips for your next poker game at home. American Standard Molding: 702-643-8000, 888-797-2200, and online at http://www.pokerchipsonline.com

Dave had this information on another thread.

The Gamblers General Store was started in 1937 as Langworthy & Co. in Detroit, Michigan. The company moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1962. In 1986, the Gamblers General Store was developed to meet the demand for casino equipment for home use.

Essentially, RT Plastics (also owned by the same people) morphed from Langworthy.

Yep, they sold clay casino chips made by Burt Co., but also made their own plastic chips.

OK GREAT !!!!

Thanks Everyone.

Since my HHR Paradise Valley CC Set came Mint, in Original Langworthy Boxes, can I assume they were made before 1988 ??

Anyway they are Great Chips, regardless of when they were made...
