I'm constantly getting fooled be thread titles that say "HS" thinking I'm gonna see some nice hot stamped chips.

At what point did the HS abbreviation change from being for hot stamped chips to Horseshoe chips?

Is it just me or did the use of HS change once the Horseshoe Cleveland/Cincinnati chips hit the scene?

No one every used to use HS for Binions Horseshoe chips, Horseshoe Reno chips or any of the other Horseshoe casino chips before that I can remember.

And why can't I remember that "HS" stands for Horseshoe now instead of falling for it every time

tbh when I see or hear HS my mind automatically goes to "high stakes".

I think it got hijacked by the Horseshoe sales from the Chip Room. There were just so many classifieds ads being posted, that HS kind of spread like wildfire, and it's now the de facto term for those chips... hot stamps be damned. :(

I always think of Hot Stamps when I see HS. Everyone should get back to that soon. That is unless you are talking about these chips where the use of HS can go either way:ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

I agree though HS=Hot Stamp

I just consider HS = Horseshoe chips (and 'should' be accompanied by a clarification: Cincy, Clev, Binions, etc.), and that hs = hotstamped.

So I guess that makes these hs HS:

HS=hot stamp (or if you’re a kid playing video games - head shot)
